Language is awesome.

It's honestly even a little cooler/weirder than that (if you're a language nerd like me). 好き, often translated as "like", is actually an adjective or noun rather than the English verb it's translated to, so it's even more literally translated as "I find Oogami likeable", hence the need to say "Oogami no koto ga suki" rather than just "Oogami wo suki". It's the same for the other 'levels' of the word koi/ai (恋/愛), which leads to the phrases "koi wo suru" and "ai shiteru", which is the words plus the verb "to do".

I know he had the realization last chapter but this feel a little too sudden, he could've waited for her birthday at least. (but I hope he doesn't pussy out now)

I get the feeling that Oogami's sudden popularity has him worried; like she's on the verge of moving beyond his world and he'll lose the chance if he doesn't take it now.
