This reminds me a lot of Mushoku Tensei when Rudy did a lot of the work for Eris’s party…
Medieval children were still very much children. These child skeletons in medieval graveyards have the very same proportions as modern-day child skeletons, not the bullshit shown here.I have no idea why people can't understand the kids being capable and strong in a medieval fantasy setting. I mean I don't want to dump on the current gens, but even 80's kids were having full blown adventures that people wouldn't dream about today (RE: The Goonies, Monster Squad, probably some others).
Gatekeeping is generally bad, but gatekeeping trash against people who acknowledge it as trash, damn…I'm surprised there are still people bringing this up about their appearance not matching their young age.
This has already been the case from the first chapter. MC and FC already look like teenagers from the start.
It's more likely the case of the artist not having the experience to draw children.
There are a lot of cases in non mainstream, low budget manga where artists could not draw children and drew adult with a shrunken size instead.
You defaulting to anime logic shows more about you. Get filtered, tourists.
You make a good point about the setting. To be fair though, magic, isekai'd protag, and living with means.Medieval children were still very much children. These child skeletons in medieval graveyards have the very same proportions as modern-day child skeletons, not the bullshit shown here.
Also, yes, children from poorer family would start helping out earlier (often with raising younger kids, that is), but still at a level they could reasonably manage. Help feeding the chicken? Sure. Organize a whole ass noble party in the stead of the adults while managing all that etiquette bullshit? No way.
Moreover, this isn’t a medieval-fantastic setting: they’ve got fricking microphones!! It’s the classical pseudo-Victorian crap you find in mangas written by people who actually don’t know much about European nobility and history.
Struck a nerve? Or purposely obtuse?Gatekeeping is generally bad, but gatekeeping trash against people who acknowledge it as trash, damn…

Can't be, they explicitly stated that multiples of ten are celebrated extra hard. Idc tbh, I don't see it as that big of a deal. Those ages just have to be a some kind translation error, considering how both of them look or act, not to mention how weird a party like this is to someone aged ten. Young children of high standing were often held very close to chest outside of select circles. If you are aiming at something like a debutante with this, you are at least half a decade off. That aside, even outwardly, has the author actually seen a child? Interacted with one?
Not that I actually suspect a TL error, I'm just grasping at straws.
Ahhh, they grow up so fast....No but seriously, what do you mean ten years old?
