Man this fanbase sucks ass. I remember when all you fuckers were complaining about the second couple in this manga and how you “couldn’t wait until we got back to the actually good couple” then the second couple actually started to progress and got better you were all like “This couple is so much better than the main couple” and would complain whenever we got the main couple. And now that the author is working on the third couple now it’s all “this couple suck, we don’t want to see progress or character growth when are we getting back to the good couples?” Well according to y’all none of them were good until y’all decided they were. God all of you suck, not even trying to give this a chance. You can have your say once we finish this arc that we’ve only just begun.

I’ll be honest, I think that years of Heisei-era romcoms have broken people. They have gotten so fed up with the whole “will-they-won’t-they” spiel that series like Nisekoi and Rent-a-Girlfriend made their bread and butter that any relationship which isn’t resolved in a single volume is a travesty.

Since everyone is throwing in opinions, here are mine:

I recall Chita not being as bad or annoying earlier on, and felt much better as a character when she wasn't the focus. I think it just took way too long for it to get there given that she was part of what ended up becoming the tertiary couple, especially considering she was mainly known for her gimmick and felt less important than Toyo, even earlier on. I think most people probably would have been just fine or better if she stayed as the side character with the one gimmick instead of having some extra thrown on her plate while also being put in the spotlight.

I understand why people saying "she's just a teenager and is having trouble sorting through her feelings and such," since that's where it feels like it's going, I just think it could have been handled a lot better. I dunno how much it's clicking on the Japanese side, but at least based on the comments over here, it's definitely not clicking with the English audience more than it is clicking.

Honestly, maybe she would have been better off being the protagonist of a shorter side manga focusing on her and Tokio instead of having the chapters thrown in between the primary and secondary couples, kinda like what Shinigeki no Eroko is to Henjou.

It might be just me, who thinks that vocally hoping for a rushed ending for two of the three couples with extra focus on the "one couple whiners whine about" hits a level of petty that I would imagine the average person would hesitate to associate themselves with, on account of how childish it is.
