Reminder that the general is from the Amid Empire and is actually planning on this invasion ultimately failing, or at least resulting in heavy casualties, because one of their goals is to reduce the power of the Mirg Shield-nation, where Chezare and most of the forces were drafted from. The actual job of killing Vandalieu, as far as the general concerned, is solely up to the vampires.

Mostly yes, but to be a little more complete:

Amid Emperor: Reduce Mirg's military power to avoid a possible future Coup. The previous attack in Talosheim also had this intention, but they had too many losses to even consider it a win from their side.
He doesn't know that the plan suggested by Mauvid is related to Vampires, but seems suspicious on the background, still,
He expects something relatively "easy" in this crusade.

Alda Religion (Gordan): Alda sent an Oracle about "Shadows of the Demon King lurking beyond the Mountain Range", Gordan assumed this was the Dhampir he was looking for.
Alda doesn't know much besides that Yupeon suffered (Yupeon only felt pain, he doesn't know what happened, he doesn't have memories of the soul that was destroyed), but
Gordan actually got it right.

Vampires: Kill Van, Eleonora and Sercrent (They don't know about Soul Break, they think both betrayed). Also collect some heroic bodies like Borkus' if possible for Gubamon.
They want the army to be mostly destroyed, and then they will block the entrance.
They do not want any more people going to the Mountain Range, because they could entice the Pure Breed Vampires in Vida's side to act. For the 3 Pure-Breed Vampires worshipping an Evil God, they are aware that there are more than 3 Vampires on the same level on the other side.

Observation: Amid Empire is a Suzerain state to Mirg Kingdom, thus Mirg Kingdom is a Vassal state to the Amid Empire.

Mauvid: Working with Vampires to become an immortal Vampire himself. He is an entity from the Amid Empire, meaning, he is the one in command overall, and he doesn't care about the Mirg Kingdom.

Chezare Legston: He is from one of the main Military Families in Mirg, Palpapek is from another family in the same position, so he could be said to be 2nd in command in this army. He is the one who knows the least of everything that is ongoing.

Riley: Is aware of the Vampires and Mauvid's plans, thus he is following their plans. He was used by Palpapek to limit the number of soldiers being sent, but he thinks he is the one getting one over Palpapek. His true objective is just the spear and to become famous as a successor to Mikhail, the one who died in the previous invasion to Talosheim 200 years ago.

yep so it makes sense that they got angry due to a religous thing also do the people know that the spear has it's own conscience, it's own brain like it's a living thing?
Common soldiers probably do not know, but religious knights are likely to understand that.
Vampires:
You might want to put a lot of spoiler tags in your answer.
They might also realize that the pure breed vampires in Mountain Range are stronger, because they have classes, while the three outside it have lost them.

Which is the weirdest part about the temple knights breaking down into a frothing mass... Every historical religious warrior order has one single thing in common: Discipline.
Constantinople might disagree...
In fact, even in general... I don't even know where you got that idea.

I've a feeling you have a different idea about "Constantinople"..
Mine's the corrupt, decadent, infighting mess, whose military and political relevance had long faded, and whose only tactical relevance remained as a strategic choke/staging point for any campaign into the middle-east.

If anything, "Constantinople" was more of a hindrance to the crusades than an aid, even when they were requesting military aid , and it was sidestepped as soon as european forces managed to secure proper staging harbours.

The human army have just executed the world’s largest self-limiting career move.
