@Velsy officially there weren't any direct causalities, but I'm sure there were many indirect ones.

@Velsy That's pretty understandable to think that. Given how the beginning was, pretty much everyone would expect this to be a 'massacre everyone edgy' series. The protagonist will certainly get proper revenge but for now, it wouldn't be good to go on a killing spree because that'd incite the kingdom to hunt him down. With just this, we have an unusual mystery instead of a monster attack so high ranked warriors won't be dispatched.

Although this manga is most definitely a dark comedy, so expect to see more silly shenanigans in the future.

@sircusa Surely would of been better ways to fuck with them. Fact that he can make golems like that is a big turn off as well. He could of simply just did earthqukes and shit, have the buildings fallin a heap corroded. If was going to do something on a large scale. Personally, I looking foward to how he kills his classmates. But I dont mind if he killed them cause what they did to his mother (They burned her at the stake). Edgy is when your killing for no sake, and/or reveling in it. Right now he had a proper purpose to use selfjustice. Which goes to why I think its silly what he did.

@Velsy I don't see how an earthquake is going to benefit Van. The town is already ruined just with it not having its walls anymore. In general it's not a good idea to go too far. Villainous acts will incite the reincarnators to oppose Vandalieu in the future and killing people could end up getting adventurers sent after him. Vandalieu is only D rank at this point, he'd die almost instantly. Just having runaway golems only brings in the Mage's Guild to investigate and nothing else.

Should also know unlike most revenge stories, Vandalieu's main priority is to live a happy life. He would not put himself at great risk just for revenge.

Good for Mr. Vulture.

I'm...not quite sure what the angle is here. He greatly reduced the public facilities, but...does that really help? It'll definitely get the attention of the professionals, and I don't feel like the survivors will just drop the grudge either. Is he after the golem's materials themselves?

It wasn't mentioned, but he also took farm topsoil and the vineyards. That pretty much destroys the town's ability to feed itself (I believe he left their immediate food stock so they don't starve to death until the kingdom can send relief supplies) and its main export (wine), which won't recover for a long time (all the built up local strains of grape vines are gone; you'd need new vines and a long time of selective breeding to rebuild to a unique and sellable product). The wall being gone means they need way more soldiers to keep out monsters until a new, temporary crappier wall can be built.

As for killing them like an edgelord, I'm glad he didn't. The priest and his followers left almost a year ago, and Heinz & co left even before him. The hunters who sold her out he already killed. While the baronet is still there, nobody else in town was actually responsible. He only took out the adventure's guild building, the lord's manor, the wine warehouse, and the wall. The rest of the buildings are still standing.

The thing the townspeople are being punished for is watching and being glad she died, but the authorities said she was an evil witch who mated with and gave birth to monsters, so... not terribly surprising they bought it (since she was a Dark Elf, that's already strike 1; yay racism). But damaging their town and making the kingdom pay to rebuild (and their crappy quality of life during this time and while paying off loans through taxes) is a fine punishment. And the baronet's future is toast
he was only a middle man who ran the territory Darcia ended up in; the request to take her out came from elsewhere.

Short...Sweet...Cathartic...One of the better chapters in my opinion. Especially because he doesn't kill any civilians.
