Man is it funny seeing the scanlator being this buttblasted for someone undoing their shit. lol

Guess what guys. NONE of this shit is completely legal in the first place. Grey area at best. For getting this mad about work you stole from the ip holders in the first place is pants on head retarded.

Not to mention many of you hacks profit off patreon and other shit. This has become a plague in the web novel translation community. With assholes using shitty google translate "translations" to get money on things that not even the fucking author is profiting upon. Like a goddamnn leech.

In the manga side, there's idiots like the one here. Or even downright evil people like LHT, whose only interest is profiteering on other people's work and hiding behing ridiculous "sniping" rules.

"Bleed the animal." Dear city-slicker author for teenagers, people who hunt for a living and people who have tasted blood and found it unpalatable would have figured that out in the first week.

"This meat tastes like iron." "This blood tastes like iron." "I bet this meat would taste less like iron if I got rid of the blood."

@Elrinion fan translations is a thin line of people who can do it well. Some sites actually pay for translations aka the site hires freelancers and there is vetting process for it normally. Google or rather MTL has a bad rep because people just suck or put little effort in. To be good at translating you kind of have to be able to writing and tell stories in the first place and then have knowledge in source material. Fun fact LDM's western popularity was built on MTL(this was early days current translations isnt).

There is probably a bunch of stuff you read that is mtl and you dont know it and that isnt but its just so bad that people think its from google.

@kenkagejack kek i ranted about this in another mango we do. but jp authors kinda suck when it comes to hunting skills

Here in Chile, there's a plate called "Ñache". It's just fresh coagulated blood from the animal, lamb or sheep.

This Party, thus far:
MC: He may be lazy, but he's smart as hell and dependable as shit. Can't ask for much more when he gets his work done
Rokuko: She's like Aqua but more useful and less alcoholic. Just make sure to keep her stupidity in check
Meat: Cuddle her, scratch her behind the ears and call her a good girl
Ichika: Give her food and her space...Don't let her near your dick otherwise. She's a nice girl, but has a crazy streak.

Why is Meat lust? I thought she'd be wrath if anything...@Kisato

Holy hell. Was that a Jeff the Killer reference back there?

I got "Go to sleep! Go to sleep!" vibes from that face.

Killer funny.

@Needhydra: My gripes with MTL come from the bad examples where:
1. Google (or whichever they use) is the translator, not them.
2. They refuse to accept that 'they' (read: Google) can be wrong.

The #1 is still fine if they put in enough effort to make it readable and genuinely try to improve.
But #2 is basically the big red mark for me. If you use MTL without knowing the language yourself, then if someone come and say "this bit is wrong", chances are the person who say that understand the language, so why are you defending the MTL to such degree.

And the even worse case is when even the 'English' makes no sense.
Like, there was this bits in a series I stopped reading the MTL on thathad a bit that I questioned "did nobody notice this?"
A mob character was 'interviewed' about their working condition.
He mentions how tough is working under his boss is, and how everyone want to work under one of the other section chief.
The next bit start with what is basically 'unlike 'my boss', this other chief......'
The MTL? 'my boss.......'
So right after the text just mentioned the working condition of the current boss, somehow the MTL didn't realize the mob's talk about a completely different working condition is referring to another chief, not the same one.........

@Tamerlane: She thirsty, deadpan thirsty.
How thirst?
There was a side chapter on Meat's daily life after they've established the hotel.

It includes how she rather...meticulously choose even her socks to be one that's attractive to Kehma.
Or how she use the toilet before hugging pillow time to remains there longer.
Or how she snuggles/playbite Kehma when he's in deep sleep.

That's has nothing to do with anything. Scanlators intended to joke and make everyone a little butthurt, but got butthurt themselves in the end. What goes around, comes around. Gotta love April 1st.

Bruh, I'm like the poster child for championing that people need to support the scanlators and all that, but I don't do it blindly and 99% of the time the scanlator is in the right and people should stop bitching at them.

This however? This is that very rare other 1% of the time where the scanlator themselves needs to take a long step back and reassess how the fuck they've reached this point.

@morichiro I've had a similar Vietnamese dish, but it had little to no flavor (bland-ish) and a brittle but gelatin like texture. A bit of cilantro and lime gave it a "Cool dish to eat on a hot day" kinda vibe. Back on subject, the blood is extracted and prepared separately from the meat.

Never had German blutwurst, but it's blood separated and packed into sausage casing with thickener/fillers. Again, separated.

I dont know if the translator will see this or not but here goes. Meat as you have it here is actaully named Niku. Now in this world it is another name for "slave" or more specifically meat shield, and
sex slave
that you find out later, but that doesnt matter because the MC truly thinks that her name is Niku not meat or slave or
sex slave
. So whenever you see the MC saying meat it really should be a name Niku. I dont know y its bothering me that much but
their relationship is really good so him looking like hes treating her like crap is kinda disheartening

@dstruktgnad the problem is, for english readers, it's not hard to understand that "meat" has some other meaning, while Niku just sounds like a name. To a japanese audience, Niku would be an easily-spotted double entendre, but not to us.

@Elrinion I agree with you for the most part.
However, at the end of the day this media wouldn't reach an audience regardless.

The whole way they make money, or whatever incentive the writers/artists have that keeps them going needs to be rethought.
Plus consider the fact that there are automated drawing programs, anyone is going to be able to make a manga.
Most of the stories are complete trash, it's usually the art that keeps people.
Most of these "light novels" have no real substance or passion. It's mainly the art that keeps it going.

This manga though, has humor, which is relatively rare/hard to implement when isekais are typically all cliche.
They are all trying to be witty, and eventually there will be no joke or clever thought that hasn't been written before.

The "web novel translation community" is technically trash as well. It's thieves thieving from thieves and now you make it seem like there is some sort of code of honor among thieves.
Really, nothing can be done, and it is only those (those who pay) that will keep authors and artists making random cliche stories.
It's gotten so bad that I am starting to realize that those who pay the most to the authors and artists are literally influencing the author to basically write the story in accordance to the highest bidder.

It's all vain at this point.
