The world building for this is starting to crack and fall apart, and it's getting hard to keep reading.

I like the MC, I really like the art and action, I like the focus on motivations and inner dialogue.

But at a certain point like, just what the actual fuck man. Not EVERY single fucking person in your world can be a murderous backstabbing person willing to kill for even less than convenience. The MCs former party barely counts. At some point you either have to start introducing real actual characters, or just stop.

Like why the fuck is the MC sticking around this town?? It's as bad or worse than every other place filled with people willing to kill him in his sleep that he's been too! WHICH IS EVERY OTHER FUCKING PLACE HES BEEN TOO. The MC doesn't have any huge aspirations or long term goals, with how unbelievably awful the people and places of the world hes in are there is zero fucking reason why the immediate next chapter shouldn't be him leaving to live in the woods alone as far the fuck away from people as he can manage.

I genuinely don't know how you salvage how shitty and terrible this setting the author has put together is, unless we get a chapter from other characters perspectives that show the MC has been completely fucking insane the entire time and for the most part everyone has been normal in their own thoughts.

He does meet regular people, so it's obviously not everyone. The thing is, he is a fugitive on the run. He can't really settle down somewhere and lead a normal life. He already had a dangerous, mostly not worth it job in the adventurer's guild, guess what other places offer that kind of work? That's right, grunt work for criminal organisations. That makes him more visible to them, not to mention vulnerable, since he's go no one to stick up for him (he is as expected, expendable to the guild). What's worse he apparently got ahold of something rather valuable (the knowledge about obtaining the grass). Given all that, it's not surprising the worst elements would flock to him - they see him as easy prey carrying a fortune on his back.

He seems adamant about finding a place to stick around in for longer, but true - in this situation I'd be halfway across the continent the next day, regardless of any unfinished business.

While this is obviously an exaggeration for storytelling purposes, life was pretty much terrible for a medieval vagabond. They were given no consideration, were always assumed to be criminals and due to that tended to drift to crime indeed, since there was little else they could do to survive.

I love that the mangakan decided not to make the dragon massive cause it would be
1 very unrealistic for a wild adult dragon to be tamed
2 Very difficult for him not to attract attention

For real. Aren't they going to do anything to protect their capable members from the other predatory guilds?
I would guess that they do, but only the ones that are worth it. Yajin it's fairly open about how he's a wanderer, so it would make sense that they aren't particularly trying to protect him in case he does decide to just fuck off into the wilds. Not to mention there's probably only so much that can be done when the Pharmacy guild is doing everything essentially by the rules, and the other one is literally a criminal guild.

It is worth remembering that technically speaking the MC has been overreacting and being standoffish/aggressive with almost everyone because by the world's rules, he is a monster. And not in the has done terrible things kind of way, since there's plenty of those too, but in the he's a valid target for almost anyone to subjugate if they know about it kind of way. At least if I'm remembering properly.

It's not been raised for quite sime time, but at the beggining he was literally considered a non-human by everyone he met. They actually called him a goblin. It was something about him being too ugly to be human, which is quite a riot, given the mugs that have been apperaing recently...

There was also that bit, yes, though I assume the author realized it was only a kind of okay one quickly enough. His actual monster status is because he gets stronger from beating people as well if I'm remembering correctly.

I think that's a common characteristic. After all, levels are a recognized thing among adventurers there, one even has to be a given level to advance in the guild.

Like people discussed here and in some previous threads, that's actually normal for travelers in medieval-like society who aren't tied to any group, guild or society. Most people assume they're criminals or at least that they won't hesitate to commit a crime, since, not being bound by local society, or any clan/group/guild rules, they can just fuck off to far away after committing crime.

And MC is actually a wanted criminal, and that's exactly why he's forced to wander on his own instead of travelling with his group, so it all makes total sense when it comes to world building. Criminal group trying to scout him also makes sense, he looks like a criminal, and a capable one too, obviously they want to get him first on their side, without letting him decline. If he joined that gang, he probably would actually found his relatively safe place where he could stay, too bad he'd hate committing evil acts on the regular, so he's gotta get out of it. Like, even now, in XXI century, there are plenty of places in Latin America that function just like that town when you get to the poorer parts of the city.

Let me also remind the part where our MC decided to brutally escalate a conflict over cutting in queue in the previous guild, because he miscalculated the "not let them see me as a prey" thing from his previous town, which let to him being forced out eventually. If he didn't, there was a chance he could stay there.

sounds like his best bet is just skipping town again. seems like that's the way to always solve his problems

I personally would've liked it better if he had just simply punched the guy in the jaw,
so hard dislocated it, ripped the cheek off, and then either left it hang or completely ripped like it was shown.

I just don't see how you can get a tight enough grip to the jaw to be able to rip that cleanly off.
Unless the guy has the chad dude's square jaw, your hand would've just slid off.
Well, it would have been more likely if he had stuck his 4 fingers into the guy's mouth first.

I believe levels are, but normal people of the world don't actually get levels off of beating other people, only monsters, while monsters get stronger by killing other monsters and people.
