Also, why would Kyouka have suggested Rei was having an affair if she is the mistress? Is it all a gambit by her friends to get her out of what they see as a bad marriage and hook her up with the brother?

didn't even think about this possibility but that also would bring a boatload of new problems/things to think about. Haruto also is pushing some limits and very conveniently placed, might be intentional by all her friends.
But then there also is Kyouko sharing the same hobby and being rather close to him, mhm. Spicy.

Because the husband is written to be one dimensional bad man with zero positive values, and our MC just happen to meet this younger hot guy who just competent at everything and especially caring and suave towards our MC.

Its a textbook Shoujo trope, just with adult theme like adultery and marriage problem hence Josei or Shoujo for adults.

The mystery is very intriguing but so far it keeps getting played straight.

This is definitely gonna bite her in the ass. Throughout this entire time she and the brother has been in multiple prime spot that can be used to be taken pictures of, I don't like this feeling.

Or imagine if the main character is actually an unreliable narrator and it turns out she is actually the one that committed adultery with the brother first while the husband is innocent and this whole story is actually a somewhat 4th wall breaker manga that is the main character's way to manipulate the story lol
