Well could it be one or several things, first the preview only is displayed for image of 10MB or below, also the images in the forums are proxied and not all hosting are compatibles, Catbox and IBB something often are broken, due to their infrastructure instability or due to their proxy and hotlink protections at play, also make sure to use an url that contains the real file with the extension... the old reliable is Imgur
