Well, as long as Aurora isn't lying about it all, at least she was actually sick and not pretending. If she was lying... damn, she is a good liar.
I think we can all agree that is mostly the parents' fault. If they hadn't put so many expectations on Karina, she would have turned out like a good kid and would have enjoyed her childhood. If their house wasn't as oppresive, Aurora wouldn't have been so scared of breaking the gift she got. I mean, most of the time the child would just cry and be sad they broke their gift and the parents woudl comfort them.
Aurora might not have had much as she was "just a sick child". But she was the favorite child. She was the only child those pieces of DNA cared about. So she could have helped her sister by throwing a tantrum. There are probably many situations she could have used to stop her parents from treating Karina like crap. Same about the rumors about Karina. There's a lot she could have done.
Karina may or may not have been a bitch during her time in the capital. I'm not sure anymore. I'd say 85% is the parents's fault. 10% Aurora's. 5% Karina's. Maybe 10 and 10 for the sister, 80 for the DNA donors.
I doubt Aurora going to Karina and apologizing would change much right now. Even if she understood Aurora's POV, she still got hurt. She still got almost killed by assassins. Her apology doesn't change that. Let's see where this goes. I'd like some heavy violence against the prince and the DNA donors.
