Not a confidence issue, but a 'her career could potentially get ruined if it's publicly discovered she has a boyfriend' issue. Because Japan is fucking weird and extremely aggressive when it comes to female celebrities and idol culture.
Yeah I forgot about her career. It's been a while since it was mentioned in the story. What's also strange is the fact that before Christmas break, Anna was supposedly so busy with work that she barely had time to go to school, and now all of a sudden that's no longer a problem. I've wondered if she asked her manager off-panel if there was anything he could do to make it possible for her and Kyo to date openly without damaging her career. After 50 chapters with the secret dating issue, it wouldn't surprise me if she didn't. lmao

Well, since we don't know exactly how many chapters are left I'm gonna give them some grace, but there just are so many unresolved threads remaining which feel difficult to conclude in a satisfying way considering we are nearing the end.
I think the current arc, and in some sense the one before, simply have been less engaging and more detached from the earlier parts of the story. Sure, there have absolutely been good moments, but as a whole the plot has strayed farther away from Kyo and Yamada's dynamic and development, which is the entire driving factor of the story and the reason for why people read it in the first place, and instead focused on the two of them more individually. Besides that we've also gotten unnecessary focus on some of the side characters, which hasn't served the narrative at all or developed into anything meaningful.
This last point is more critiquing the manga as a whole I guess, but it also feels like Kyo's personal development kinda stagnated part way through the story. I understand that certain traits are what makes a character, but especially in regard to his relationship with Yamada, he has felt very uninterested, reserved, poor at expressing the importance of their relationship, and overall detached from her even though they're supposed to be dating (yes ik they can't be seen in school). By this point, the end of the story, I would've liked to see him become a bit more active.
That argument goes for Yamada as well, just not to the same degree in my opinion
