Everyone don't know that the most fucked up person in there is the sister. It's kinda sad really. The brother knows that he's a shit human being, so he's punishing himself, despite that being useless.
The mother from what we've seen is worse than the brother. She's a shit parent all around.
Matsuri is... Okay. But kinda blind to the whole thing. That's what makes her cute though.
The sister is fucked all around. She's more horny than her brother and I am feeling that the reason the brother is like that is at least part of the sister's fault. The bad thing about her is that she doesn't seem to know (or care) that she's wrong.

That's not what I mean. The point of what I said was the time skip made the sister look like a second rate villain. I like this manga because previously the sister was also twisted and looks like a mastermind. But now, she doesn't look like that anymore.
Yeah maybe next chapter will shed a little light on how shizuku manages to let a whole year slip by without anything happening despite last chapter going incredibly well for her. Like I get Onii-chan probably shut himself off bcuz oh his mental state but, it's such a jarring juxtaposition from last chapter. Also, just incredibly fucking funny development with matsuri.

Shizuku probably feel safe because Matsuri is gone, and Kouta confirmed he need her.
Despite her scheming, she seems to always want him to be the one to take the final step, to be the one who say "I love you", be with her forever, and take his part of responsibility.
She can handle external threat, and it brings a change. But the last year of their life is probably stagnant, and she can only repeat "being part of his life" while waiting for him to make the move.
Mother and Kouta telling her to get out brings a new change there, a time limit.
She's ready to edge on her demand there or else it's all gone.
But still without directly putting it in words.

I don’t like how other ppl are basically seeing his sister naked because he is modeling his manga character after her. The only solace I have is even though they look exactly the same irl and in the manga, since this is a manga, irl would look different from the manga in their world, if that makes sense. So it’s essentially just a 2d drawing that resembles her, but it can’t be that accurate because she is a 3d person. I mean think about the manga we read, do any of the characters actually look like real people?

I hope so too... Last chapter was really incredible, making the sister like the puppet master. I hope the author will come up with good back story from the time skip on how the puppet master lost control of basically everything.

Be it academic, social, or keeping their looks (after all, youth is limited and your clock is ticking). They also want to be as perfect as possible to protect themselves, so the society can't find excuse to talk bad about them. In other words, they choose build up their weapons to fight a war rather than running away.
While the boys, at least the protagonists, typically got no target in life, felt they can't keep up with the pressure for achieving against the competition who already got head start, and then ends up running away by avoiding everything by running to the safe zone of being a loner (you won't offend anyone if you don't interact with people, you don't have to feel disappointed if you never have any expectation, you don't have to get embarrassed when making failure if you don't do it). It's less tiring than how the girls do it.
Shizuku seems to be that kind. Good looks, polite manners, good in home skills, and I assume she probably will be going to a better university than her brother.
So, normally her parents would be hoping more and try to support her. Compared to Kouta who despite at that age already, has not shown any result nor motivation to improve himself.
Not saying he must become rich or work traditional job. If he could at least clean his look, show he got "good people" friends and able to be "part of the society", it would've been more possible to convince the parents his job as porn manga artist is something he can be proud of without damaging his ability to be part of society.

It's also very likely that she's not entirely moved on from Kouta basing from that conversation. A part of her heart still yearns for him or at least his manga, you could say she's still getting NTRed even after a year lol.
It's also likely the mother knows Kouta's tendencies for Shizuku or has disowned Kouta and doesn't consider him family anymore.
Kouta probably had his inferiority complex from always being compared to Shizuku who's basically a perfect role model girl on the outside for his mom.
Also it seems Shizuku's now gonna possibly blackmail the poor guy into sex lol. She's likely using a more direct approach as I always had that feeling that she doesn't want a forceful approach and want his brother to do the first move not her. I do hope we get a recap though, 1 year is pretty substantial. Like what happened at Shizuku's school? Aren't they still clubmates with Matsuri? How did Shizuku fail specifically after a year of manipulating Kouta into making a move on her.
