It's not always specifically an act of murder; it's basically just any form of mob violence enacted on a single individual.

Assuming that was the subtext to your reaction. It's still abhorrent, compounded by the school covering it up solely due to who the assailants were, but it's not like they straight up noose'd someone on campus or something.

In some cases it can also just refer to social harassment and discrimination, singling a person or small group of people out and humiliating them in a single incident. Often it has the intent of driving them out, whether out of a friend group, a school, a workplace, et cetera. I don't specifically know what the case is here, and I wouldn't be surprised if violence was involved, but it doesn't necessarily have to involve physical harm.

I mean...in-context, beating the shit out of them wouldn't actually solve anything in the moment that his actual course of action didn't already.
And as others pointed out here--it would just land him in trouble with the school, and he could be forced out/expelled and then he'd have an even harder time helping out Amane and the Prez and so on because he couldn't physically be present on campus anymore.

The assholes already demonstrated how they're allowed to act with impunity, and that was before the caste system of the Badges Thing was introduced. MC having no badge makes him less than a second-class citizen in that context, and he'd have no protections from ramifications from the school if he injured other students, whereas they would get all the sympathy and support by virtue of belonging to the clubs/sports teams and caste that they do (the badge thing again).

Yes, I do get it - some of the readers just want the violence aspect, but as far as the story goes, I would have been shocked if he just let loose on them and put them in the hospital. It wouldn't help anything, and would only hurt Amane and his own larger cause.

This is one of those unique cases where you can't really feel anything about a kiss on the page because dude is a fucking dry wall in terms of emotions. You just know he feels literally nothing. It is a disservice even. I don't know what the author is thinking but i hope he is not genuinely thinking that these are wholesome/endearing.

Don't forget that it was mentioned in the chapter that two of the three members were big players in the Baseball and Judo club, and that the school swept similar issues with them under the rug before. Ontop of the whole Gold-badge and no-badge system.

So, between all that and it being the word of three against one? No chance it'd do anything but remove himself from the picture because the school would act against him instead, preventing him from doing anything because he's no longer around.

Given the girl obsessed with him is practically the de-facto ruler of the school i dont see that being a problem, she'd probably end the rule herself if he walked out because it wouldn't serve its purpose of baiting him to her.
