Also, we all seem to forget the major question, what did Asebi lose for her to agree with such a crazy plan to the point as being the lab rat for it ?

@Rebelos @BloodySorcerer You guys are forgetting the shield just failed earlier on the trip. And had to have some emergency work done on it, not to mention stuff that happened don the last trip. I know it's still a what if, but it's not as if it's 'unlikley' for the shield to have something go wrong with it. And the stealth shield -is- Waldecian tech, so neither the MC the old man, or his daughter can fix it.

I do understand Licorice did choose her past over the present and that's her choice as well, but also, she didn't have to make a 'choice' in the first place. Granted she was presented with a choice, but the only motive the 'Combat Android' side has to keep them out is "we were told to keep out intruders" Licorice could've made a deal to hold Asebi hostage, peacefully, and have the rest of the group escort her to Brant to put a stop the the plan. (Which would've had a higher chance of success in stopping the plan cause they'd have actually had bargaining chips) But again, I'm not saying she's bad for making that decision, it's a matter of if she makes that decision -again- with all teh info now. Right now it's just a "dick move"

@JaxunHero I know right, no love for Ayame... Hopefully she's just losing consciousness due to blood lost and there's still time for help.

@warpbeast Yes I'll still defend her now. Who do you think she is? A godess?
She CAN'T convince the emperor, he IS the emperor. Now you're just looking for excuses to hate her. 3 seconds of his appearence and he's already shown to be irreductible, no amount of convincing will work on an excessively selfish and egocentric bastard. Once again you're blaming Licorice for the doings of another unrelated person.

@WillLi "Licorice could've made a deal to hold Asebi hostage, peacefully, and have the rest of the group escort her to Brant to put a stop the the plan."
But that's was what she tried to do, she tried to leave on good terms while making sure everyone would be safe but she didn't count on Nazuna being a bitch. To her it's all Waldecian against invaders. She didn't have any info on Waldecian fighting themselves. call her inrresponsible if you will, for leaving her job unfinished, but she didn't really commit any mistake or made a bad decision. If anything, Asebi's father was the one who brought all this to happen,as waldecians would sleep a much longer time, if he didn't meddle with the pods. Like I said offing the emperor would be a much better choice. I'll be honest here, the author commited an enormous mistake in these last few arcs. He tried to sell that the combat automatons were unbeatable monsters, but all I've seen is that they can be easily beaten by the proper application of waldecian tech, which makes it even more possible for people on Asebi's Father's side to simply choose a few bastards here and there and remove them from existence, while also removing the automatons that would try to prevent that. Yuu beat two of them already on makeshift weapons.

@bloodysorcerer There are a few things wrong with what you're saying. First being that you're under the assumption that I'm saying Licorice made a 'bad decision'. I'm stating that her decision was a 'duck move' because the condition she left teh team in. Not because any harm that came to them. I'm not attributing any of the damage done to her. I'm saying that she could've tried to negotiate a situation where she didn't have to actually -leave- the ship. Because leaving the ship meant the MC and crew would likely die if the shield failed again. Secondly, you're acting as if I am not already saying Asebi's father is making bad decisions. One person making bad decisions doesn't make it so no one else's decisions are bad, in fact it's possible for everyone to be making bad decisions.

The combat automatons are a separate point, that I'm kinda 50-50 with you on. We have to remember that Guardians are well above average humans in physical ability, so much so that even the combat class are surprised by their ability, implying that Waldecians were not able to reach this level of physical prowess. However I do agree that there should've been no problem getting rid of the problem people long ago. Especially since it seems like the Combat bots never actually showed up at the facility in an aggressive manner until now.

Scientist man was right, turns out

He was right all along, people who would bring the end of the world about for their own gain because they were certain they'd survive it are not to be trusted.

Could we not confuse 8600 people, men, women and children with varying personalities and ideas, with one asshole, who is the emperor? That latter guy is an idiot and I won't shed any tears if he dies. But at least a significant number of the others are guaranteed to had nothing to do with this plan of his, and they do not deserve this sort of collective punishment that's barely better than death. Both sides are goddamn extremists in this story, seriously. :/

"there's no such thing as "reintegrating within society", there's a reason why heinous criminals get death penalty, some people are simply incapable of change"

I quite disagree with a statement taking the conclusion "death penalty exists", and extrapolating from it that people are incapable of changing. What horseshit. Then again, I'm biased for rehabilitation.

I doubt anyone will see this but I also agree that Licorice is not as bad as you all think. If she was, she would not have left Dahilia with Yuu. I believe Dahilia would be able to operate the shield, seeing as Licorice is her master and most likely spent a long time with her and seeing her work.
