@Zephyrus you have no idea (or maybe you do I don't know if you can look into other people's message inbox) of how many people have messaged me requesting manga recommendation specifically ones where the author is not afraid to change that trope of weak, pushover MCs into one that actually have development and future relationships.

The only way you will see me insulting someone personally is if they first instigated it. Since I cant report people (and btw I have read all the rules of the site prior to me making the comments that I do) who attack me personally based on my opinions I just defend myself.

All I am going to say is, that I have helped more people than upset while making my "bait" comments. They see some truth to it and either engage in real discussion or send me friend requests and message me on manga recommendation.

You're never going to see the people that are positively affected by something because those people are pleased, the only vocal and loud people are the ones upset the most, this is true for online polls, surveys, etc... including comments

Fair point. It is rather calm here. I don't think it will continue to stay calm, but honestly, we survived longer than I anticipated for how large the userbase is (I doubt doki and anidex can compare). Perhaps I'm just overly paranoid.
And though I like to shoot for low hanging fruit, I suppose if putting them off gives us a 100x improvement on the reader options, it may be a better way to go. (seriously love long strip mode and directional turn on mobile, normal with forward only on desktop)

The alternative would have the entire place devolve into shitposting, being able to mute/block/ignore usually defuses escalating situations.
Unless you want a full on reporting feature and people mass flagging each other, which is what usually happens in most social media.

Open discourse is neat when people have it. (and to be frank I don't trust the people running this place to be open to it, but rather "lalalalalalala I can't hear you" type shit) But I'll take your point. Mass flagging is killing YouTube and Twitter.

I'm personally not against banning trolls. I have very little patience for them. Staff will eventually get discipline tools and we'll utilize them if we have to.

I'm not jokingly referred to as a Paladin by other staff for nothing on Discord.

There's a difference between open discourse and trolling. Pretty huge one. We are open to discussion as always, both on here and on our Discord. Being open to discussion doesn't always mean you'll change our minds about something, but we're not going to stifle discussion just because we don't agree with it.

@Zephyrus I appreciate the efforts and thoughts youre putting into this, how trolls are dealt with are usually what makes or breaks a community.
Im a very staunt proponent of free speech and personal responsability, therefore the blocking feature is a perfect way to just bring some order into the place without having to resort to more drastic measures, as it keeps the responsability on the users hands.
