"Your honest words"
oh okay Miyuki, I'll believe it when I see it.
Once again Takaomi cements his place as the best character in this series. Heartfelt, thoughtful, doesn't just blurt out the first thing that pops into his brain at every moment (looking at you, FMC's supposed friend), and earnestly seeks the best for those important to him. And most important, actually does his best to convey what it is he is trying to say, without freaking out over the wording or wondering about how it'll be interpreted.
Honestly wish we could get even more about Takaomi just on his own, absent his role in what's going on between Sorata & Miyuki.
But I now wonder what Sorata's plan is, considering he's just bailing entirely on the Kyoto trip (and only telling Takaomi, I'm guessing, since he looks to be in a hurry). I expect he'll have to go back to Miyuki's home to get his stuff at least, though maybe he'll get in & out without running into anyone and it'll be up to Takaomi to explain where Sorata's disappeared to.
I guess this is ongoing, though, since I have to imagine Miyuki will see this (or interpret this, even after hearing from Takaomi) as Sorata running away. It will be interesting to see what Sorata's plan is, though.
I am glad that he's been told by someone he respects and trusts to just be more selfish. I don't think anyone else has said that to him to this point, and it's probably the single most important piece of advice a person like him could be given.
Here's to hoping he starts turning things around...though I feel like he's done more than enough up to this point, and I maintain that Miyuki needs to start putting in some active effort and showcasing what growth she's achieved from childhood, instead of reverting to her old self & habits in the face of this ongoing misunderstanding. If this really ends up being Sorata "being made to fix it all himself", my estimation of this series will go down. It remains to be seen, of course, and I'll continue holding out hope that Miyuki will finally step up and do her part, but.
Thanks for the TL as always.
