They're guarding the burial of heroes, something with strong national or religious significance, like the Tomb guards for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. From their words, there's probably more ceremonial guards on duty and there was something that threw everything to the shitter, or they decided that night duty would be taken by two people only. Well, who knows how far back in time did the cemetery get founded, and how many generations of heroes are in there. Due to the heavy religious and national implications if ever the cemetery is desecrated, I wouldn't wager people out of the really desperate trying to tomb raid the area, so the guards aren't that many, but they should still be there.

Also, all it takes is one person rediscovering that place. Remember, Licht found it due to a rumor in the adventurer's guild; who's to say some other adventurer would peep into it? And like any good player of Evil Genius knows, once one enemy agent (in this case adventurers) comes in, expect there to be ALWAYS enemy agents popping in.

Edit: Whenever she gets revived like that with that face, I can't help but think she says she's revived like that like how patapons says they "reborn" when resurrected XD

How...did she use her ability before? Stabbing herself through the hand and stuff? It is obvious, that she can't kill anybody with it. Or better said, under normal circumstances she can only kill one person with her ability and that would have been its "limit".

“Victim” doesn’t do anything like this. When he dies, he just inflicts all enemies with an absurd amount of very strong de-buffs, to the point where there’s literately nothing they can do other than stand there and wait for someone to come and kill them. That’s why he shares a floor with Rubedo (a.k.a-The Strongest Force in the Great Tomb).

@Qelix wouldnt take much tbh if you had a healer working with you just start by breaking your bones
cant hold a weapon if you cant use your arms and broken bones wont lead to dying instantly
or if recovery magic doesnt work on bones then work on muscles and tendons, maybe drowning or suffocation works too?
there are a million ways it could be done
we have no way of knowing how her ability works until the author breaks it down but then it would remove the mystery and make things predictable
in a way you could disable near infinite amounts of people just by making cuts in different locations with different angles from 0-180
you wouldnt even need to kill people you could just disable them and leave them on the ground to starve and die

@Qelix, I agree with @2wtgeshtjytkhj

i see her ability as a support type ability, not the main means of attack. If someone is pulling the drawstring on an arrow at her, she can mildly hurt herself (slapping herself in the face, poking herself in the eye) to get them to flinch, throwing off their aim. I imagine that her ability is only useful for startling the enemy, buying her enough time to either get help or get close enough to kill them.

For you guys who are confused how she fought before. She could most likely take minimal damage and in the stun or confusion or pain she can finish off the enemies. She was most likely more careful with her ability which was why she asked him if he could infinitely revive her to which she no longer needs to worry about her own personal health anymore.

For what we may know she could be quite skilled at dodging and allowing in minimal damage for her skill, she nolonger needs to do this and just allow lethal attacks.

So basically any damage you take your enemy does too. Seems pretty powerful, you don’t even need licht if you have a healer spamming heals. Just inflict damage on an arm or a leg and that person is as good as dead in combat
