Dear Mangadex, as a scanlator and manga fan, I really love and appreciate this site. I understand we've had to use ads as a last resort. It would be great if we don't need to rely on ads in future. I would really love to donate, but I don't understand crypto currencies. Is there any other way to donate?

they've answered this a few times in this thread, though with it being 26 pages long it gets lost in the shitposting lol. Ply explains on page 9 rather in depth, but basically the answer is no. Because there's no way to do this without opening them up to legal issues. Crypto is the only way they can still shield their personal identities and get the muns, outside these ads apparently.

I feel it though, because I also barely know how to use paypal let alone crypto.
Someone asked about MD merch and I can't remember if anyone actually responded to them but I do know they did that at one point. Idk if the cost to produce said merch was just, not efficient enough though

its increasing mangadex@home help? if that help, I know majority of people not into technical thing, but, maybe you can encourage people who willing to donate with "paypal" to do so
1. create account and order cheap vps $2-$5/month (vultr, ramnode, digitalocean, etc)/ provider who accepts paypal
2. user donate vps detail

maybe you guys also can filter user who willing to donate minimum 3 month-more running vps to maintain sustainability

I only use Add-blocker because of the Adds that fly everywhere (the one that pop in the middle when you open a page, the video publicity that follow you when you scroll down, the hidden link that open when you click on the page...). Because of theses, other Add that don't bother me are blocked too (the one on the sides, or top, etc... All Add that aren't in the middle don't bother me).

I disabled the Add blocker on Mangadex since the pool, expecting to see some non invasive Adds appear, and I still don't mind to have them if they can help you to sustain the website, and help me to read on my favorite website ^^

Again, thank you all for the work you do, to give us easy access to read thousands of series.

@Hyphens in the Dwelling area there's a Spiritual mountain, you can spend food on buying apprentices in the top right, which you can allocate to farm spirit stones, food, wood, or iron. You can basically just spam them between food and wood and keep upgrading their capacity to try and even them out.

I have no problem with ads in general a long as they're non intrusive and you've actually checked them and can see they're not scams or viruses etc which you seem to have done in this case. If this is what it takes to keep the site going then please keep doing it and don't feel too bad. Sure it's not ideal but its better than losing the site.

i'm sure this was mentioned before but why not run Google Ads ? do you not qualify for them ? you have enough traffic, or are there some legality issues ? google ads are the safest and cleanest.
i would be totally fine with a few google ads on the main pages, just don't put them on chapter pages, and whatever you do, don't do whatever hyperdex is doing, that site is hell to use, but some stuff you can only find there.

@JoeGP It would most likely lead to legal issues, as Google's Advertisers would not want to be associated with pirated content and may alert the copyright holders to the existence of this site trying to earn money off of their works.
