Novelupdates
WN Translation

Raw WN

A bit of a spoiler this work and tags it start with this bait, as it doesn't happen right away, but like mentioned, not until a bit later for the manga, but the whole work is questionable because he keep pulling up these kids that get weirdly attached to him, and he end up with his niece too lol, so this work need a bunch more tags, like harem, incest, lolicon, shotacon, boy's love, whatever else there is in this site, on top, one of the kids that get introduced in a few chapters (shows first at ch7 as one of the orphans, officially at ch11), Joan/ジョアン go through feminization magic later on and end up as one of mc wives
need more chapss

Nah screw the isekai, why are you not clocking in? Why? Fuck the store owner and clock in, overtime should be paid.
This. Why is he working 12~16 hours a day for what probably averages out to less than minimum wage when you factor in the unpaid hours?

Erotica?, bunch of delinquents getting cheat skills?, the one that went to jail is getting brainwashing?, the two older women teachers are nowhere to be found?, there´s a woman knight with high "justice and duty" inclination?, an ambiguous war against "demons"?

Yep... I kind of think i know where this is heading, but so far the view point of the MC is... pretty much on par with the view point of the MCs in these type of things. Gonna keep reading just to know where in the scale this world falls, sometimes these types of stories get pretty creative and not too horny
the teachers were separated because they will understand the politics of what the king is forcing the kids to partake in, forcing them to be on their side of the story

Damn, too much exposition monologue...
That last page though... I wonder if he's going to say "as a convenience store's clerk, I'm used to being asked for his virginity".

I noticed that his niece doesn't appear at all after summoning. Hmm
I think it's supposed to convey the guy's introvert and introspective personality, which is well and good, but I guess it's a problem of presentation and execution that just made it not really hit off as well as it could have.

Is it gonna be...okay that he can't warn the kids?

Can't he at least put their guard up by asking about the missing adults?

Huh, a lot of people are assuming the MC wouldn't say yes. The MC could swing that way (or both ways). And even if he doesn't, the MC has a couple days left before he's exiled. It's confirmed that the "Enchantment" spell is the spell that he should be learning. I guess it comes down to, what would you do, or who would you do to survive?

No, he probably get paid more than average salary for his work hours, he seem like a smart man with some ambitions.
He probably chose to work there because it's close to home and his salary bonus from being a shift manager want cary over with the job change, for reasons of it being to minor of a position.
It's sad but it's what you get with no education and family support in our times.

The best move for him wood be to make his own company while working normal 9/5 whit no overtime, but he has no good idea for a company nor an interest in higher education. And that's the real problem.(For him as an interesting Ms)

Brother, if your body is this fucked by 35, you are done for. Mans looks more like some dude who worked construction for 20 years and is in his late 40s.
In the US if anyone reported all of that off-the-clock OT (for a "non-exempt" job like this) the US Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division would come down hard on their asses. The Fair Labor Standards Act is taken pretty seriously. (That said, far more jobs than used to be non-exempt are now considered exempt and many people don't report coercion for various reasons.) It seems to be getting worse though.

In Japan it's apparently fairly wide spread if not exactly common, but apparently getting better.

Assuming ChatGPT isn't hallucinating...

Unpaid overtime in Japan is less common today than it used to be, but it still exists, especially in certain industries. Here’s the clear picture:

How common is it?

  • Surveys from Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and major labor unions consistently show a minority—but still notable portion—of workers experience unpaid overtime (“サービス残業,” service overtime).
  • Estimates vary, but roughly 10–20% of workers report some form of unpaid OT in a given year.
  • It used to be far more widespread in the 1990s–2000s; legal enforcement and public pressure have gradually reduced it.

Where it's most likely

Unpaid overtime is more common in:

  • Small/medium companies
  • IT sector
  • Food service
  • Manufacturing
  • Education (public school teachers notoriously work huge amounts of unpaid hours)
  • Caregiving sectors

Large corporations have reduced it significantly due to stricter government penalties and reputational risk.

Why it happens

Even though it’s illegal, it persists due to:

  • Work culture expectations (don’t leave before the boss)
  • Ambiguous job descriptions (e.g., “fixed overtime pay” systems)
  • Understaffing
  • Fear of retaliation or “not being a team player”

Recent changes

Japan has pushed labor reforms since around 2018, including:

  • Maximum overtime caps
  • Criminal penalties for egregious violations
  • Mandatory tracking of work hours

These reforms have made forced unpaid overtime less common but far from eliminated.

If you want, I can break down which industries are worst, explain the “black company” label, or compare Japan vs. Korea/China/U.S..
