I liked the change in the dynamic of the Elves, the dark ones are the good ones and white are the bad, usually it's the opposite.
Anyway as I said, in no way this dude will exterminate the whole race. He'll probably kill a lot of the bad ones, spare the good ones, assume power and change their ways through brute force (and those who disagree with him are killed).

Point is the story is already highlighting one of the positive characteristics of their race:
You get prestige due to your own efforts and power, not due to your bloodline. (Unlike humans who use and abuse nepotism).

Again I seriously hope his childhood friend gets a chance to reborn and be reunited with him, I felt so freaking bad for what happened to her.
