With all due respect, these comments are such a nothingburger that it's hard to take them seriously. Like, yes, there's a level of negativity and discomfort, but it's just so tame that it's difficult to give it much weight, especially since there's also neutral comments in there. And even more when you compare them to what's happening in this thread.
Western readers seems to always make waaay more drama about manga developments and certain plots than the japanese readers, example, age gap romance, nowadays you always see someone whining about pedophilia, while the japanese readers don't give a fuck.
The real indication of discomfort will be reflected in the sales of the next volume.
The previous one did so well, that it even ranked on Oricon. If people are genuinely pissed off with this development, it will be felt in the sales of the next volume, and even more so in the one that follows, considering those who exclusively read manga by volume.
I could be wrong, but that might take a while, I'm pretty sure chapters are released online for free, and since each volume is 10 chapters, we still have 5 chapters until volume finally gets released.

Ya it's hard to make much sense of most of them allot gets lost in translation but the is some comments that are commenting on a supposed live stream from the author that didn't show his original intention for the ending was a good one but it could have been bs but I still don't really see how agawa and gotou end up together the author seems to have upended to who premise of the story by adding in new love interests for the two as for sales time will tell from all the places I've read comments on this this chapter in particular has angered allot so I would assume the reads who pay at least some have left

I always find the pedophiles argument funny it's been around for so long and it's a drawing I mean sometimes things are taken to far but not as much as some people make it out to be

Yeah, some people act as if drawings are people too lol, you'd think by now they would realized that whining about it won't change mangas, Japan don't give a fuck about westerners opinion.

But what really grates me is that many times the characters are teenagers, and not necessarily young ones but like 16 or 17, but people still lose their minds as if they're poor little innocent children being manipulated by eeeeevil adults, as if turning 18 would magically make a difference.

Yeah, but thing is, I'd say that when something in a manga/LN/WN/Anime, etc., actually pisses them off, they can be much worse than in the West. There's a reason why cyberbullying and negative online comments have become such a big issue in the eyes of the Japanese government, to the point that they actually take measures against it.

But that's the thing, this happens IF an issue is THAT much of a deal, that it actually pissed them off, which is different from what happens in the West, where it seems they make huge waves of drama over the most minimal issues. (Not saying what's happening in this manga, in particular, is "Minimal," but I mean talking about the scene in general, and of course, Japanese also have their petty moments, but they're less common than in the west.)

It's such a weird thing to witness.

Yeah, normally a new volume would be right around the corner, but with this development, it will be a bit before it happens.

It'll be interesting to see what if any impact this turn of events has on sales since I believe this manga was rather popular on young magazine

You're right, Japanese readers are a lot more tolerant because they only care if it's an actual issue, I guess because they already know what to expect, so if they do complain it's because of actual problems.

I think one reason is because now manga and anime are popular in the west, it's not a "nerd" thing anymore, for good and bad, which means all the self-righteous Twittards also care about manga too now, it's funny how western drama is more often than not over some "moral" issue, age gap and loli / shota being a good example of that.

As for Japanese petty drama, like Kannagi incident lol, one of the few times I know both sides agreed is over Usagi Drop ending.

The manga is mostly no? So I guess only end of the year, I do wonder how general reception is going, but I can't read Moonrunes to look into that

I wouldn't mind if it was for an actual issue, but most of the time it's for stupid cliche stuff that has been a staple of manga for decades.

It would seem we have reached the end of comments on chapter 35 all hail this train wreck I still don't think agawa and gotou end up together but for those who want them to I wish good luck in that . All though I don't really want them to I find there relationship to be rather toxic now

Found in the /a/ thread a screenshot of a comment from the RAW version of ch.36... and can understand a bit what's happening in the backstage of this manga and why did we came to this point.

Tryin to make it short: editors were the ones who wanted this to be an irredeemable NTR where the old ugly bastard teacher basically does everything with her (even anal), but that shit was not explicitly shown in the OG doujin (all the torture porn was gonna be summarized in 2 vignettes). Long story short: author got into a fight with the editors because he didn't want to cross that line, imposed his own terms, and, starting from new ch. 31, the story turned into a romcom with lots of sex and will follow the vanilla end from the OG doujin... so there you have this new canon.

I have a hard time imagining how the reactions would have been if author followed the editors' terms.

Sadly, they're gonna end together. The new canon has the OG doujin end as the endgoal. We were misunderstanding what happened behind the scenes between the author and his editors.

If all that is really true my view of the rewrite has now changed a generic old ugly guy ntr with the teacher would have been rather boring

I mean, even if you are someone who likes NTR, I feel like Blackmail (especially when it's as stupidly contrived as this one was) is up there with mind control as some of the absolute most boring variant of it.

I am so ok with the new cannon and have to take back what I said about the author then if what absent666 said is true ntr doesn't bother me but of the three ntr troupes I hate the most ugly old bastard is at the top almost tied with ( I have to do this for him) fuck I don't even really like agawa all that much but still that ending would have been so lack luster. Ugly old fat dude is so unrealistic he'd get two pumps in if he can find his dick and would be outta breath. Although if the author doesn't want to go that way why is there an extra panel in the dojin showing just that?

If that is true it makes sense to some extent, apparently when some hentai mangakas go legit, many editors like to take advantage of their reputation, it's why many end up working in series heavy with fanservice, doing something completely wholesome like Nanashi did with Nagatoro doesn't seem to be the norm when you have hentai past.

Could you post the pic?

So what does this mean for the manga im very confused now was the manga following the old dojin plot ?. And hasn't the author said he is revisiting the teacher plot?
