people armchairing shitty work culture and being hikkiNEET in a country they never set foot in at the comments section, color me fucking surprised.
I love how this thread is full of kids who probably never worked a day in their life yet are somehow all experts on labor conditions in a country on the other side of an ocean

Thats the beauty of the information: you dont need to go to space to know that is cold as hell and you cant breathe there, or that you dont need to get near to magma so you can discover that the heat can scorch your skin even from a certain distance if unprotected

Japan has a horrible work system and many people become mere drones of the society to a level a westerner cant imagine.
You can look at japanese work interviews, most people literally study books of how to act in an interview because they always follow the same pattern(both questions AND answers) and people look as clones of each other wearing the same clothes and similar hairstyles. Or how socializing outside of your work with your coworkers is not optional but mandatory(and spending more time with your coworkers than with your own family as consecuence) and how being drunk is viewed far different from the west.

Many people have a really idealized vision of Japan, but its more than manga, anime and games and many westerners do experience a culture clash there that anyone who bother to search a bit can look it up. In the west the individual is valued more than the colective, in Japan is the opposite

She could've sued the hell out of the guy or bring it to the court, because that was friggin' assault & battery right there, which is an easy win for her, while the guy will definitely goes to prison for many years.
It's japan....
if you speak out you're creating a drama and suddenly You who speak out become the problem

I mean these are things that have been well documented by individuals who have lived in Japan as well, as media and journalism.

This is not like an issue with scarce information, rather it is a well documented problem which has been in dire need of fixing for ages

Yet another garbage "translation", including shit like changing a sign to "Walmart", changing a sign for fried chicken to nasi lemak, and making characters suddenly talk like Brits. We have one contrarian trying to defend how the convenience store worker's poor Japanese was rendered, when the "translation" is basically her going "ching chong" and utilizing Chinese stereotypes despite her likely not even being Chinese. Even the non-meme parts are completely off, such as her saying "mega yikes" when eating the noodles, when she actually said they were tasteless.

The suggestion of reading a different release would have been a nice one if there were one and the dumbasses picking this up wouldn't have resulted in no one serious bothering to translate it. Gotta love rewrites.

Plus was a small scalp cut (those tend to bleed quite a bit though) its not like he splitted her head open, she just was unlucky getting her head hit in a bad angle.

Myself at work saw once a coworker accidentally cutting another in the face with a paper sheet by pure accident, weird things do happen

This is so relatable it's not even funny.
Protip: Spaghetti and ketchup is cheap, can be bought in bulk, and can last for months.
I've eaten just spaghetti with ketchup and spices for weeks in periods.
That's pretty fucking gross and sad. It's not difficult to cook most basic foods.

I feel like some of you guys never worked a day. This kind of physical abuse doesn't fly in corparate space no matter the country. That's why emotional one is more prefered since its harder to prove.

As a side note, Japan passed a new law spesificly for stuff like this in 2019 threatining non-compliers to disclose the company name publicly (which equals to financial suicide). So this shit was already on the radar a while even before the law issued.

So yes, if she sued, she would have won, big time.

"Whatcha talkin' 'bout? I never hit her. She bumped her head and's now trying to blame me because she a worthless underperforming slacker who never does her job right and should either quit or be fired." Even if there was a witness not many people would dare to speak up in such a toxic environment.

But yeah, in the US you go straight to HR or to the highest-level boss you can find in his office without wiping the blood off.

Utamaru, I'm no lover of corporations either, and I definitely think that abuse by bosses shouldn't fly anywhere. Unfortunatly....it does,,, In addition to the issues already given to you, I'd like to note that even in countries not insanely hierarchical like Japan is, challenging a big company as an individual is difficult. Legal cases cost a lot time and money to complete, time and money even a middle-class individual might not have. Thus, even in cases that should be slam dunks, many might feel that it's best to just cut your losses and move on with your life rather than pursue justice.

Now that I've mentioned the financial element, I'd also like to note the tendency for people (at least in what I've studied) who have been abused to not interpret what they're going through as abuse.
Now if you can document WAGE/TIMESHEET fraud you'll have the full force of the US Department of Labor breaking down their door. That shit is taken seriously.

There really can be no excuse for eating nothing but noodles when there are healthier foods that are just as easy to prepare and just as cheap.

TL do you enjoy compromising this manga with all your superfluous memeing and highly questionable creative liberties? This was ok in Forex Fighter (even though it could stand to be toned down a bit there) but here? It adds nothing and takes me out of the story more often than not.

This isn't funny and frankly you aren't either if your "jokes" are any indication.
