I'm surprised that you guys are sure that her daughter will always be against them. She's been bonding with him all the time, and last chapter made her stance pretty clear: "I should be happy, but I'm sad." She doesn't have an intellectual problem with it, but more something in her gut. Probably because there's just so much happening at once.
I am interested to learn more about the father. He has been a non-presence so far, making me wonder what's going on there. There doesn't seem to be any resentments or attachments for either of them at all.
