Christ, people need to grow the fuck up. Everyone thinks he's being spineless letting her move in with him, but even the story itself is pointing out that yeah, it's a bit of a concerning set of circumstances that he needs to be careful navigating. His friend even outright told him, just last chapter, to make sure he isn't being taken advantage of.
Setting aside what is clearly meant to be a plot point that develops and/or comes back around in the future, the chapters establish that she's out there actively working a job. Which means she is presumably doing her share while living under his roof. And as this chapter has just revealed, even before their apartment got wrecked she was working herself well past what is healthy, coming home half-dead with instant dinner. Why?
Oh I dunno maybe it has something to do with providing for her daughter as a single mother.
We don't know all the details. We don't know why she chose to go to him after seven years apart. That's called telling a story. We will eventually learn more as the story and the characters develop. But she clearly has a job, and she is clearly working to provide for her daughter. So she isn't some scumfuck freeloader living at his house doing absolutely nothing.
So many manga out there- hell, so many works of fiction in general- focusing on the importance of kindness and empathy and helping your fellow man, and yet people scorn this manga and its MC for daring to open up his house and home to a person in need. Y'all really need to reconsider the media and/or people you're surrounding yourself with if this is what sets you off.
