... okay, so the fucks from the instant death skill isekai kinda had an excuse for having zero empathy, since the "blessings" they got literally removed that aspect. These do not. they watched, proof of fucking concept as the goddess just possibly murdered a dissenter before their very eyes. Makes it feel a little contrived?

How the hell MC's skills are considered E-rank? Those are pretty useful skills in most games and in some cases such skills are necessary for some strategies to work. Also, the classic unrealistic heartless classmates trope, why is it so common that such characteristics for MC's classmates are used in isekai stories? It's more believable if the classmates pity MC but are confused and not sure what to do because it's a goddess with divine power instead of just being straight up assholes as if they can't even consider the possibility they are being deceived/brainwashed/used in a conspiracy and in a position where they are readily disposed of. I mean look at the S-rank female classmate, the goddess can just twist the truth to suits her narrative, it can't be hard to have at least 1 sensible and intelligent character as a secondary character who joins MC later. Other than that, I still dig the RPG revenge isekai plot regardless.

IMO the Goddess kinda brainwashed everyone - at least, that's what it looked like to me. It'd be some pretty shitty writing - god forbid - if they just randomly started deciding to hate on a rando for no reason

@Rayster

But it's not unrealistic?

Bystander syndrome is a thing, and highschool classes in Japan is a giant clique.

The guy who's not friends with anyone in class, isn't memorable, is more of an outsider than an otaku character for Japanese highschoolers (and even other countries that's the case).

@Rayster The way someone explained it to me is that, the normal version of those skills basically don't work on even villagers, but the MC's version has a 100% proc chance.
"In This world, spells and skills that are suppose to give abnormal statuses like sleep or poison or paralyze are absolute shit. They don't work because even a normal villager has enough defense to resist the effects. Goddess threw him away because he had shit skills and stats to go with it. However he finds out that his skills proc 100% of the time. So they are very different from the usual spells people use."

@TehSDragon , It's possible but I think that if the goddess could brainwash the classmates, it's more efficient for her to just directly dispose of MC without giving any "explanation" to justify her decision in the first place. Or, if she's so powerful, all the summoned people could be just brainwashed into loyal blind religious fanatics instead, but it needs a revenge story so it's probably that the goddess is only as powerful as a being that can be defeated by MC in the future I suppose.

@SunSun , Yes I get your point and I agree, which was kinda my point too. The classmates would be more realistic if most of them are shown as just standing by and not sure what to do without lending any help to MC, a few having monologues inside their mind showing that they are questioning the goddess's decision and attitude towards them, a few are scared of goddess and the unknown that they are willing to side with the goddess, and a few that just don't care about MC and want to experience the new world. However, most of the time many of the classmates trope are only designed like a single-layered one-dimensional selfish arrogant and borderline evil character who later on carries out criminal activities and get revenged by MC like a low level mob... In short, when authors make such characters I just think they don't intend to explore and develop those characters but to only motivate MC to get his revenge, in that case the authors could very well just set the story that MC + delinquents + class rep + a few average classmates then at least they each would have more screentime and significance as isekai'd people than just background. What our points about bystanders would be expressed better even with just a few more monologues from the classmates in the background like "What is going on?", "Why is the Goddess doing that? Are we all gonna be safe?", "Is this Goddess good or evil?", "Let's try not to get involved so that I'll be safe" etc. The majority response shown was only indifference instead, not exactly bystanding due to own safety concerns, like they are not even really thinking or worried about their position and safety. With goddess disposing one of them unreasonably and casually, twisting the truth to fits narrative, I'd say showing some strong anxiety, fear and pressure is more realistic.

your translation is a little more precise in some cases, but not always so accurate, your big negative is the redrawing
Last picture of page 4 the arm, and lots of little things.

Personally I would imagine the goddess as a disguised demon, who would like to manipulate the real hero. for once that would change us a little

@Leo80221, Thanks for the info! That makes more sense but still doesn't make the goddess's decision to dispose of MC more reasonable though. Even if MC's skills are useless, he could very well be put in a backline support position out of combat that doesn't require these fantasy skills but only personal skills, like information and inventory management, politics, paperworks, business and finance (like many isekai'd MC who "invented" some food and entertainment, MC could earn a lot money to support MC through finance), etc. Basically, unless it's a cruel, selfish, scheming and not exactly good-aligned deity, there's no reason for the goddess to be so extra and go out of her way to summon a person only to dispose of him and be dramatic like that. Ugh, why I'm getting annoyed over plot like this, though I believe I'm not the only one. It's just that I hope Isekai authors could put more creativity and efforts into background settings and proper source of MC's motivations because I like Isekai genres and think many stories have potentials but they can't reach top tier because of some neglected details.

yes and 100% it's pretty good, because in games a lot of players play with 1/2 CC or other and they're viable in pvp and even in pve
so 100%, tell me where to sign !

@cor3zone plausible, but it was an S-class that actually spoke up. But that would make more sense since he has some STELLAR Crowd Control skills. I mean, in most games when it's a level one skill, either it has a high fail chance against high-level opponents or it's just really short. Either that's not the case here or he's got infinite use and/or no cooldown. Ah, @Leo80221 pinned it down, those skills only work because of his abnormal status application ability.

Still, he's obviously being made an example of, and it feels a little off at this point. Of course, it IS still early so there's time for further development.

@icarushector It's just guesswork, of course. I'm probably wrong. Regarding the S-rank, it's possible she has feelings for MC and is more resistant regarding him in particular. It's also possible her power outweighs her resistance, while MCs resistance outweighs his power. But, just guessing and probably wrong. Either way, the Goddess does not deserve any trust.

The intro makes a heck of a lot more sense after reading the 3 chapters translated for the WN
The class is just full of assholes anyway. The reason why she defended the MC is because he defended her prior to the summoning. They were in a bus and she was reading a book, the asshole who called the MC a pervert actually stole the book and started mocking her for liking love stories. She was so embarrassed about him announcing her guilty pleasures that she failed to defend herself properly and everyone else misinterpreted as the two flirting, but the MC realized that the guy was just being a dick and stood up for her. Before they were summoned basically everyone was trash talking the MC for not reading the atmosphere.

Heck, the moment she said she was going to dispose of him the whole class, no, any human being should have realized they were in deep shit. She'd rather kill them than bother sending them back, or even leavin' em' alone to do their own shit so it's obvious what's gonna happen when their job is over, also not even a class literally full of bullies would act like that in that kinda situation.

So basically it's a shitty start with edge for the sake of edge where the author didn't even bother to write the rest of the class as scumbag characters and just stripped it down to scumbags.
