We use our phones everyday for every thing. If they could talk whenever they wanted it wouldn't be special. Having to take time to communicate, making it a priority instead of doing it while browsing the web or reading between text makes you more present in the interaction, makes it more important and meaningful.

Totally understand your point and I think I wouldn’t be so reactionary if we hadn’t already had 61 chapters of it so far. I think after re-reading the chapter and specifically that part, I cannot deny that their style of communicating is unique and special to them. I’m applying too much logic to the situation and not just absorbing what works for them. I just hope it doesn’t continue to get in the way of developing their relationship, gets used as an excuse to end their relationship once she graduates, or is used for some ambiguous ending that isn’t clear.

I understand. Logic and romance generally do not mix. I'm thinking they will exchange contact information when she graduates but set a rule that no text will be allowed, only voice calls.

God willing. I always root for the happy ending, and that’s no different here, as frustrating as these two can be at times. Still 1000x better than a majority of the slop in this genre.
