Chapterly reminder that WN had some details that manga didn't include. Things like Hikari trying to hook Yuu up with different girls during the entirety of middle school and was frustrated that none of them worked out. Doing this while saying "i was not interested in love during those times" to herself now.

She dug her own grave from the start and the last 3 months worth of effort doesn't fix that shit. Dude rightfully moved on long ago.

That'll definitely be in Yuu's arc.

Yuu didn't get to the same high school as Hikari is the final nail in the coffin. Hence why he didn't fully reject being taken to the Love Hotel by Yami-senpai. Because he already gave up on Hikari.

As for why I made this an interlude, it's because the storyline is different between the manga version and the novel version, so there's no cannon to base this on. FYI, the reason why the storyline's different is because one of them... is but Yami-senpai's fantasy.

This shit is the biggest copout i have ever seen, not even Takeda Super or Murata's rewrites of their manga can compare to the shameful backpedaling this mangaka is doing.

Most writers either double down on their narrative decisions, or quietly listen to the feedback of their fans and subtly change certain aspects of their manga.

Maruto meanwhile is completely retconning the story and overtly telling the fans "yeah i screwed up, this was a bad direction to take it in, my bad y'all"

Ngl, while the twist was a wild one and the story has fell off somewhat, the insane drop in rating is entirely undeserved. Imagine rating something a 1/10 because some drama was introduced. Funnily enough, I'd bet anything on most of the low ratings coming from "holier than thou" people screaming NTR (despite there being quite literally no NTR in the story) most of whom would jump at the opportunity to have sex with a hot girl if she offered.

i think the tonal shift is what gave many readers whiplash. It's like thinking you're reading Kaoru Hana and then all of a sudden you find yourself reading Juujika no Rokunin in the SAME MANGA.

people were expecting to read standard childhood vanilla fluff, and NOTHING indicated to the contrary. idk, it just rings hollow for me.
