There's also this other possibility, given that her immediate predecessor (Silzar) resigned.
put/lay down/aside/away; let drop/fall; give up; resign; deposit/entrust/commit
lift off; take off (clothes); have (hair/beard/nails) cut; shed (tusks);
pull down, demolish; plant (seedlings); set up, place; lay to rest; fire;

Indeed, considering that Silzar did both (and not knowing the original Japanese kanji/furigana used in the name, if any), I suppose that the primary meaning was intended by the author to apply to both their work and their clothes.

put/lay down/aside/away; let drop/fall; give up; resign; deposit/entrust/commit
lift off; take off (clothes); have (hair/beard/nails) cut; shed (tusks);
pull down, demolish; plant (seedlings); set up, place; lay to rest; fire;

Considering how the Japanese love their puns and wordplay (SZS, Bakemonogatari, etc) I wouldn't be surprised if such were the case.

"you were already dressed like a slut" lmao

I didn't expect the old demon lord to be that horny, poor demon girl, she was such a good girl.

Thanks for the chapter!

Silzar's name was in Katakana, read as "シルザル". My initial thoughts on the same was something along the lines of Caesar, but I couldn't really find any correlation.
No idea if his name meant anything. I went over a bunch of meanings of "Shi" "ru" "zaru" in different combination and the closest thing I could think of was that one of the three wise monkeys was named Mizaru.
If his name was a joke, it certainly got by me.

"Caesar" is indeed unlikely; Japanese wikipedia notes the proper Latin pronunciation of Caesar (unless author-san had a sudden onset attack of Anglicization). Given that it's in Katakana, it's unlikely to be anything in Japanese, so my best bet is that it's just a mangled form of lizard rather than anything too deep. (Or author-san might be making some kind of reference to something in Japanese media, who knows?)
Don't beat yourself up over it, I think your work is fine as it is.
