If that is how the story got released originally I'm not even shitting (solely) on UTOON, but the author and their editor also deserve a slap to the face for that.
And going by how this one ends they'll do the same thing again.

Depends on the system of nobility, a Duke is a title of head of a Duchy, the title would have been given by the king at the time of creation of the duchy (and a family member most likely to be appointed) and then the tile would be past down to oldest son

Some also will give an honorable title of Duke to the brother of a new king, this honorable title doesn't get passed down to their child

Had that been the case, it'd be a reportable offense - MangaDex rules forbid splitting chapters in ways other than how they were published.

The splitting really ruins the pace, the second part doesnt even feel like the same manga either, I had to go back a chapter to see what was happening and the tone shift still gave me whiplash. I hope the editing and publishing doesnt end up killing this manga, its one of my favorites.

Not really. In most feudal systems it's just the highest peerage rank. It was somewhat common for the king's male family members to hold it, but the point was the land attached to it (dukedom), not the title - they were already royalty.

It's one thing to denounce a ducal family for things like treason and quite another for a veiled show of disrespect (he can after all argue, he was just giving the young prince some advice). Do recall, that under feudalism, the royal family is rather weak and needs the support of the fuedal lords to get anywhere. So unless this guy is deeply hated in most of noble society, butting heads with him is just dumb, even if you could win militarily.

I had the opposite reaction. She's been sent back to the capital and is forced to spend time with her brother, the captain of the royal guard. That's a perfect place to learn more about what's happening there given the disdain the prince faces, although if there is a task at hand, I assume she will only find out when it is time.

Um... the raws are actually up to chapter 35, part 1, with part 2 coming out on March 24. The official website may be on 34.3, but they have an iOS and Android app, albeit in Japanese only. That said, I'm perfectly willing to wait for a quality translation. Heck, if it gets an English print run, I'd probably spring for it immediately.
