I thought the same but I'd think at this point in this settings development most people would be using something like a chamber pot. Though you'd think a japanman like MC would never miss the opportunity to shove a toilet into basically anything he could.

When did the propulsion system get changed?

Its no longer tossing out a ton of air continually, and these trains are much bulkier then the original design that was stripped down to reduce weight so other crafters could make usable wind blocks, so it can't be just running on wind blasted from the back anymore.

On page 49 it's got the full drive and piston control linkage a steam engine has, so are they driving the pistons using compressed air now or did it switch to steam?

I just assume it's a disconnect between the writer and an artist on a tight schedule. It happens a lot in adaptations like this.

In the real world, accredited artisans often work together to support each other at every point. Just look at how Banksy remains anonymous, even with people tracing what publically available information exists and calling in favours and using industry connections to try and figure who he is out.

Duke Greenvale is too short sighted. Berdini is playing the long game. Even if sell the iron on the cheap at break even prices, he's going to way make up for it for being the center for a trade hub. By all means take a copy of the plans and start planning out your respective tunnels. Without Miyabi or the Berdini crafters, they will be in production hell for the better part of a decade as they try to piece together their own engine and rail cars.

While they struggle with that, Miyabi will be chunking out a four to six rail lines, a year, complete with regional station and locomotive. So all the half priced iron is going to do is speed things along rather nicely for Berdini backed projects.

And as an aside, i wonder how long it will take to bankrupt Duke Green Vale? He still has to buy all that iron for full price, even if he recovers half it's value. Miyabi is still going to be burning thrue their supplies with astonishing speed. So I wonder which breaks first, the supply of iron or the Green Vale bank account.

Nonzero chance Miyabi hits an iron vein while digging through the tunnels too, so so long as he has permission, he could hollow out an area real quick, drop off the iron with the local lord (or arrange a purchase order for the material) and lower the price even further... making rails cheaper as well.

I read about 20km/h somewhere. It's around 500 km, that's about 25 hours. Even if it was two days, still an improvement from two weeks

I feel like Chiffon and Alicia are going to be closer now than ever because Alicia now has actual professional pride in her work as a maid rather than 'personal attendant to Lady Chiffon', which I think was the source of the problem.

I dunno, I want to believe that this was Chiffon's actual plan rather than some weird Japanese 'become robot' thing.
