I like how realistic the noble (I forget his name) is, he's not cartoonishly good or evil, he's a noble in a high position of power, even if he cares for the people and his family sometimes he has to make hard choices and use both as pawns on a chess board.
He helps run a kingdom, even if Miyabi is not seen as a threat he his skills are still invaluable, if said skill can be honed in other promising talents then it could lead to a golden age.

Unfortunately that stance would doom Miyabi to loneliness. If he can't get together with a younger woman because it's "big yikes", he can't get together with an older one either, because it would be "big yikes" as well. After all, he has the body of a young lad himself, regardless of his soul. So, a 30+ woman matching his soul would still need to be into much younger men to accept his biological age in that world. That would be the "big yikes" for you, logically. You are putting him in a difficult spot.
