NICE SIDEBOOBS TREAT
Honestly, that whole slaves consenting to have sex is the wierdest thing about this series. it's just wierdly squeamish about the reality of slavery. They girls still can't say know, whether they want to have sex with him or not.I was wondering about that. Roxanne and Sherry both sold themselves into slavery, and consented to sex in advance in order to increase the amount of money their families would receive. Miria was forced into slavery due to her crimes, and didn't consent to sex, so Michio is in uncharted territory. Is he going to approach this as a transactional negotiation?
Also, I found a mistake on page 14. It says "Miria says she's can see very well", but it should say "she can" instead.
Master Smith class has Lvl 10 Item Box (not depending on level, like Explorer). Other girls' Jobs can't have it.Didn't MC give Sherry coins for her item box previously when they were paying an adventurer to take them to Palmesque or whatever ?
In LN he actually asks about eating raw fish, and yes, they get mildly offended by it. He didn't try to teach them about sashimi.(tho, wonder if she'd eat them raw or be offended if MC thinks of beastkin not needing to cook meat /sashimi/sushi not being a thing in this world)
No, he already said that he doesn't want to force the issue in that manner as it'll feel awkward afterwards. He, if I read that correctly, wants her to be the one who breaches the subject and do so because she wants to and not as an obligation of being his slave.I was wondering about that. I kind of understand it though. Even if I had slaves who I knew couldn't turn me down, I'll probably also wait until they truly consented to it rather than doing it because they are my slaves.Honestly, that whole slaves consenting to have sex is the wierdest thing about this series. it's just wierdly squeamish about the reality of slavery. Even small villages typically have a small handful of people capable of clearing the first roughly 52 or so floors of a dungeon, because even a brand new dungeon has 50 floors so to be able to conquer a new dungeon before it can take over their village somebody needs to be able to clear it out. Any location that doesn't have somebody capable of conquering a brand new dungeon before it grows is pretty much destined to get overrun by monsters sooner or later as more labyrinths spawn and more monsters are produced as a result. Have to prune them early. That retired level 47 explorer being a fishmonger was a surprise - The levels get that high and you are not considered a known individual, huh.
They got a long way ahead of them.
The higher denominations are dungeon drops, so can be inserted into item boxes. They'd be used for expensive purchases or travel. This is what he gave Sherry.Didn't MC give Sherry coins for her item box previously when they were paying an adventurer to take them to Palmesque or whatever ?
Roxane SURELY will say "stare all you want on my breasts", she surely noticed the long stare

Yeah, the power dynamic is a real problem that's been handwaved away. Not the only series to have this issue to some degree, but probably the skeeviest to pretend it's being wholesome.Honestly, that whole slaves consenting to have sex is the wierdest thing about this series. it's just wierdly squeamish about the reality of slavery. Look at Roxanne's first time, she was obviously uncomfortable and unsure of herself. Not just because it was her first time, but because there was no relationship, no trust between them.Yeah, the power dynamic is a real problem that's been handwaved away. And I do think Michio's a good-ish guy and intends to treat his women well and not do anything they don't want, but he's actively avoided thinking about the implications of the power imbalance. Even when faced with it head-on, like the whole "we aren't supposed to eat at the same table as our master" stuff, he ignored the fundamental problem in favor of the immediate symptom.
I do think Roxanne and Sherry both understand at this point that he's not a "normal" slaveowner and views them as equals despite the imbalance.
It probably helps that Michio lacks this world's common sense and has had to ask them so many basic things.
Roxanne's explicitly refused being freed, even just in the event of his death. The meathead's basically made a suicide pact. And she's made her displeasure clear enough when he seemed to be favoring Sherry over her, despite it not being her place. Far as she's concerned, she's a happily-married berserker-wife and not a slave.
...
And Miria doesn't seem thoughtful enough to have considered the power imbalance in the first place. She'd have a terrible time with a normal slaveowner that expects her to treat them as a superior being.
