Outside of ability to present a criminal's card to authorities, it hasn't been specified, so it's anybody's guess. It would be amusing to imagine that they somehow attach it to a gravestone or something... but much more plausible that they just throw it away.

I wonder how they get rid of them This manga actually has a lot of gaps and missing details. The author touched on many things but didn't delve deeply enough into any of them. However, when the protagonist killed the bandits at the beginning of the manga, he took their energy cards and handed them over to the guards in the city for a reward. But my question is, what happens to the energy cards of people who die outside the Maze? I mean ordinary people, not bandits.
