The problem with having a boring protagonist as your gimmick is just that, your protagonist is boring, I reread it after ages and it’s just so mediocre, there did seem to be some sort of plot direction but it wasn’t that interesting and it seemed to move at a snails pace, there were some good characters but they weren’t developed very well and some were just one note.
Catch 22, you keep your protagonist boring forever in order to fit his so called character, in exchange you’ll never be able to develop him further than that label otherwise he wouldn’t be a boring swordsaint.
