"Tragic backstory" what this isn't even tragic. I mean, ya it's sad, she lost her grandfather and all, but many kids lost one of their grandparents around this age, it's not uncommon.
Again, it's sad, but trying to sway our heart with tragedy (and in this case, not that much of a drama) is kinda low. If you can't make people love your characters without using pity, then you're not that much of a great writter.
I'm saying this but I've seen way worse in the manga world, I guess it's "ok". I'm not trying to sht on the author, he's trying his best. It's just that method of "ya look we gonna make her relatives die and everyone will love her" that I find quite appalling.
