I mean, we already knew he was a shitty, cowardly MC when he got a 'rental girlfriend' to begin with - I can understand hiring a prostitute, but a rental girlfriend isn't much different than just having a friend -- and if you have to pay friends to hang out with you, you're a really goddamn awful person. It's literally paying to be cockblocked and cucked - because in the real world that isn't this manga, someone is going to be having sex with that girl on the regular.

A real world girl wouldn't think "oh gosh, he's just trying to protect me, how sweet" when her escort client stalks her through the city streets all night, listening in on her conversations.
