Why are people annoyed with the FL? Of course she's going to be cautious. He's also the source of her brother's trauma. It mKes more sense for her to be wary of him. It's not like she straight up despises him.

Based on the dream flashback, it doesn't even seem like he was injured in a spar, but rather after being called by the royal uncle and offending the second prince in some way.

When is this going to be interesting? The preview seemed promising but this is dragging.

People here are fawning over Aquila when we've only seen a prologue about him, but somehow watching Lamia try to take matters into her own hands using foresight is "annoying"? Nothing about Lamia's personality is "overbearing" (it begs the question if she were a man would she be considered overbearing?). She's a person of action making smart decisions using her wits. That's her duty as a person in a leadership position. And rather than twiddling her thumbs asking people what to do, she has the acuity to decide what the best course of action is. Perhaps you guys don't agree with her goals about being a knight, but we've barely gotten into the meat of the story to be saying anything.

The build up to the story is just fine, who wants a fast pace romance that makes zero sense? The mystery is there to keep the readers engaged and thinking.

Uriel himself told Lamia that Aquila was the cause of his injury, why wouldn't she believe him when we know they trust one another a lot? Especially after seeing how afraid he is of him and the fact that the Emperor won't even investigate what happened to the Duke's (the "only" Duke I might add) son? If you saw a loved one like that wouldn't you want to do something or at least find out the truth?

Almost everyone here wants a passive and dumb female lead, can we get past that garbage, yeesh.

People need to stop this whole "if you dislike Lamia, you are sexist BS."

Lamia has proved to be illogical several times in the past chapters and this one. She wants her brother to be Duke, but doesn't teach him to be the Duke. Rather she handles everything and gives him busy work. She undermines her brother infront of servants and subordinates, and expects him to somehow take over and be respected. Is annoyed by the vassals concerns even though they are valid, because she can't hear anything beyond her own voice. In this chapter alone, she said she would replace anybody who opposes her pushing her brother to be Duke. Tell me so you think those descenting voice will just roll over and accept it while she goes to the capital to seek revenge? There is a great possibility of a revolt.

She wants to seek revenge on the 2nd prince, but doesn't seem to know the 1st thing about the guy. His strengths and weaknesses, what kind of intelligent strategist does this? Her brother subtlely tell her about the prince's capabilities, but she is so intent on being a mother hen she doesnt hear a damn thing he says.

Now the prince from what we know ain't shit, but jumping to conclusions will not let you win over your opponents. She is so loud and wrong most of the time, that is incredibly frustrating. I don't want an uwu misunderstood prince trope, nor do I even like the guy at present, that still doesn't negate my dislike for Lamia.

All in all people don't like Lamia because she genuinely make no sense, not because she is female. So stop. Like her if you want but stop making it about gender because it is not at least for everyone.

There plenty of female leads that are strong and intelligent without being overbearing and nonsensical at times.

@KenOne

periodtttt
just because she's female doesn't mean it's sexist, like it's perfectly valid to dislike her after all of her actions so far.

@genericlinic There is no shortage of novels that have either very strong physical, intellectual or emotional FL's. Here is a short list of the ones I'm currently reading:

A Stepmother's Märchen
The Villainess Lives Twice
Crimson Karma
To Be You, Even Just for a Day
Charlotte Has Five Disciples
The Black-Haired Princess
Beatrice
Virtues of the Villainess
I Became the Villain's Mother
Please Throw Me Away
Seduce the Villain's Father
Sincerely: I Became a Duke's Maid

In all of the above the FL is most importantly rational. I root for them and want them to succeed.

Lamia is irrational, overbearing and hard headed. I'm waiting for her to get knocked around a bit and show some character growth. Because right now she reminds me of a young girl playing house and pretending everything will always go her way.
