Not a very helpful bug report.

Can you provide information about your device (OS/screen resolution/etc.) and browser (version/add-on/etc.) and a list of steps to reproduce the problem you are having. Also screenshots or similar are helpful.

Chrome OS/Chrome
Simply going to any manga chapter of any series produces the same results and pressing the X to close the window does nothing.

Any extensions installed? Those could sometimes cause conflicts with a site's functions.
Did you try it on private/incognito mode? Sometimes corrupt cache/cookies could be the culprit.
Did you try using a fresh browser? Browser with default settings.
Did you try a different browser?

All of these is just to troubleshoot and figure out what could be the cause. (Shouldn't this be in the Support forum instead? The comments closes for me just fine.)

Have you tried another browser? Like firefox for example.
Also if you have an adblocker a temporary solution is to just block the whole thing temporarily by manually adding that part to your filters, but it might be a bit buggy.

Cannot reproduce it on latest Chrome on Windows. So this might be a version or os specific problem (or even possibly screen resolution). Would you be able to provide the version of Chrome OS and Chrome that you are currently using

Edit: You might want to see if the test site (canary) already fixes the issue you are having

I'm assuming it has something to do with this older version of ChromeOS as I'm not having the same problem on a different Chrombook/WidowsOS
(also no extentions installed outside of an adblock which was turned off in the course of my testing)

My Chromebook I use for reading is the only one I can replicate this problem on so I'd assume it's only on my side.
Apologies for assuming it was something on the websites side.

Edit: The test site works fine on my end, thank you for the link.

Issue solved, if this was in the Support Thread.

But we're not quite done yet, I'd say state the version of ChromeOS just to see if anyone else could replicate it.

Version 103.0.5060.132 (Official Build) (64-bit)
I've tried wiping cookies, new browser, incognito, and even going as far as resetting the Chromebook to factory settings to test further and the issue still stands that the X isn't interactable at all

I'm aware the Chromebook is out of date, but it's the only thing I have at this very moment to read or browse the internet with.

Are you able to open the side menu in the reader? See if you can press the button that says [# Comments] if that could serve as a workaround in the meantime.

Funny enough I tried this and it just expands the comment section further covering the rest of the manga page lol

Yup, that's not how that's supposed to work, if the comments is already extended, it should retract instead. Not even when you click it a second time?

Side note, what screen resolution are you on?

Nothing happens upon a second click, but I'm able to inspect the page find the code to delete the comment section manually to disable it so I guess that works for now.

"We" think this has been narrowed down to some CSS features versions of Chrome older than 108 do not support.

After some quick testing, might be dvw, only supported in chrome 108+ and seems to look the same, can even artificially create it by removing/replacing the value with something random or can't interpret in the min function for max-width on the .reader--comments element
