What do you mean by this? The arc about becoming a king of basically a group of slaves by making them their own leaders is a Jewish Arc?
There’s a lot more in there that you have to be 8n the know.
Their whole history and culture. It’s a desert and in this case actually “a people without a land and a land without a people.”
And the olds that demand the next generation live exactly the same (traditioooooon)
one special skill that’s useful to people with other priorities (like ears, or literacy and math skills).
Kossacks show up for a pogrom, and then (and I called it, check the comments) Iruma goes full Alter Rebbe and stares down military police until they leave.
Nova is waaaaaay different to King David. Just violence and sex with David. And music. Sex, swords and songs.
The timing of this arc has made me cringe, it gives political statement, and on the side opposite me.
This manga is FULL of stuff. The alphabet (aka the aleph bes), search “kiddush cup” and then reread the series. It‘s killed me since the second time I read through it.
he has a bar mitzvah (cups again)
They say Hebrew stuff occasionally. They chant Gd’s name backwards at his bar mitzvah (that’s demons for ya 😜)
”Erohim“ magazine
It’s a fantasy manga. People often take inspiration from other cultures. That’s fine. I just usually see artists in japan pull from Shinto, Christianity, Chinese Mythology, or even Islam.
We don’t really have a lot to pull from, so Christian demonology is where the character concepts themselves come from.
But the culture of the Makai is Jewy af. She chose our stuff for some of the general content, instead of Culture. Coulda rolled a rolled a die, for all I know, but Nishi knows more than most goyim I’ve met. A LOT more.
Not enough holidays, though
