I want this to be like memories in the Dresden Files. Memories can be sealed, removed, but aren't truly gone. Love cannot be forgotten. Love is pure. Love remains. And when they meet one day, Merize will remember her husband and daughter.
Didn't expect to find a fellow Dresden fan here XD

I can see that happening. Its either gonna be that or a memory restoration spell; probably depends on how precisely the memories were dealt with.

Ah, the classic non-consensual memory modification trope. Used here in a surprisingly light manner, without any protests from her loving husband.....

Combine it with zero indications that Henri told her anything about planning to send her back, or asked her a single question about what she herself wanted and it's incredibly... Icky. And I feel unclear about whether that was something the author intended to be ethically dubious, or if this was just something that no one thought to examine.

Sure, her life is in danger if she stays. She has to leave. But no communication at all? No choice? No protests over the memory modification, when Merize herself said last chapter:
"Having met you [...] I dream about being happier than I have ever been in my whole life."

This sucks. And not for the reasons I think the manga wants me to think it sucks. Merize deserved to be treated like a person, to have a say over her own body. Her own lover didn't even let her keep him and their child by her side in her memories, leaving her more alone than ever. Ouch.

Merize, I hope you find another, better, love.

She was in a coma. She was dying. Henri lacked the power to protect her from his boss, let alone go against the Demon King. This was the best of worst options.

I know everyone is rightly talking about Merize and all, but what about the temp-demon lord? (Forgot her name already, lol)
In the present time, she is nowhere to be found with the demon lord seat being left empty. What happened to this nice demon?
I'm blaming Baal until proven otherwise.

Merize woke up the day before though, and despite not knowing about the memory wipe by then Henri said nothing to her about the plans to send her to the human realm. As far as he knew then, she would just wake up in the human world without her husband and child - not knowing why she was abandoned. The memory wipe solved this at least, but personally I think Henri should at least have been protective of the memories of their time together. It was Merize's happiest and least lonely time. It's her first love. It's the child she just gave birth to.

I'm not saying Merize didn't have to be sent away, I'm saying the way this was handled was bad.

It's a temporary measure, the comments I mean.
