Maria is a deep character and while revenge is her mission the underlying sadness and yet loyalty to her family makes it interesting. I'm hoping Maria's using the hacker training simply as a tool to keep the boy out of the way. I don't want the author to speed run it so now he is a super hacker.

It would be interesting to see the husband's point of view when he catches Maria and she explains the reasoning or she leaves a note after completing her plan.

and we learned that she doesn't fully blame him or hate him for what happened to their son as she also couldn't help him with the bullying. She still has a job for him to take care for their boy, at least the grave.

Lol, HackTheBox reference. Looks like the author at least did some actual research into system security, though I fully expect some bullshit once he's "good at it."
I felt Maria's monologue on this was pretty clear that the point of this is to keep him busy, not have him actually be helpful. So hopefully the author doesn't do something goofy like have him be a hidden prodigy.

So the reason why she chose to do this on her own is because the diary said he hated his dad and she wants her husband to protect their graves?

That's Reiji from Ch 14, another investigator in Taiichirou's field. The guy gives off the vibe of a massive snake. I wouldn't be surprised if he's preparing to throw Tai under the bus or attempt to pin him as the real killer.

I hope that kid actually takes more than a year. Gonna be lame if its going to be revealed that he's talented at hacking. Revenge stories like this one shouldn't last this long, if you ask me.

It sounds like she really doesn't need him especially for any hacking. At the end of this chapter, it sounds like she only gave him that laborious task so she can distract him and keep him psychologically contained. If she told him simply to stay at the shelter; chances are he'd get psychosis from Cabin-Fever, guilt, and feeling like a burden - becoming an uncontrolled variable that could bring the whole revenge-plot down.

I'm guessing what's gonna happen is that he's gonna take it super seriously cause of guilt, dedication to her, and having nothing to do (basically be like working on it 16hrs a day). He'll probably finish it in a month to her surprise and originally annoyance (now she no longer has anything to keep him preoccupied so she thinks). However, something will happen that will require hacking-skills and then he'll have his moment to shine in the series where he really was needed to advance the plot.

Bet.

Nah, he's totally gonna be a hidden prodigy. He dropped out of school because of bullying, and is on his way to become a hopeless jobber. This is definitely going to be one of those instances of dramatic irony, and it also contributes to undoing the evil consequences of Okaya's sorry existence. And it's kind of a distorted, surrogate motherhood for her, too.

Besides, it's a trump card the author can use to make the story longer and more complex. This I fear more than anything else, because it could mean the Juujika route. I'll be satisfied if the kid just hacks into Okaya's computer for incriminating evidence, or erases camera footage to help Maria out.
