That is just unbelievable, surly for his kid to end up like that the father and mother would have to be similar to him or on his level in some way. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if he was beaten and abused into respecting them every night as a child.
But to see them both scared of him is just stupid, I can see one of them maybe being scared of him and the other one being just as evil. But both of them acting like that just seems stupid.

Everybody is saying it's fantasy NOW, but they ignored the part in chapter 1 where 12yo's are running around killing other people like it's a Tuesday innit.

The bullies were laughing and smiling and recording when being told to jump

Credit they ALL weren’t smiling when he actually did except the main Bully but they continued to record him jumping

Or how about when they had a noose around a kid. One filming the other Making bets on when he gives up

Main bully quick to assume/think 1st bully was killed and was smiling like he was happy about it or enjoying the whole murdered friend situation.

Or how little they thought of Maria’s son’s death. Like killing/coming after them for such a dumb reason or outright not knowing or caring about the date especially the MONTH he was killed.

To clarify, we already knew that Okaya blackmails everyone around him, and now it turns out to be a "surprise" that everyone bows their heads in front of him. No dear reader, you already knew what the rules of the game were when you started reading this manga, so complaining about this chapter makes no sense, when the story of the manga has been clear about the main villain.

besides this being an interesting extreme revenge story where suspending disbelief would kind of heighten the ride i don't think it's completely ridiculous what okaya has going on?

for one, it's cool to juxtapose these two incredibly similar characters with the same single point of obsession tempered in different directions only by circumstance. and that would also be enough reason for me to be into it personally. it's got total vengeful fallen angel vs extremely twisted elevated devil vibes.

but I've also genuinely known folks like him in terms of manipulation before. maybe not as extreme in action? but they had their parents and partners under foot—going to bat for them, yet constantly belittled for perceived failures, with the manipulator picking iver and over at those poorly scabbed scars. i've seen them threaten or enact physical harm on their parents, and later turn it on every partner or animal they had. seen them turn right back around after beating some one, calling anyone they hadn't cut out of their lives or beaten down, and acting like they were attacked.

of course the adults enabled them back but it's pretty scary to watch and even harder to break that shit up when they're all in so deep, again, coming from personal experience.

besides that tho, i also kinda see it as an exaggeration of what parents who don't want to like, step up or take blame when their kids hurt other kids can kind of breed.

im looking forward to seeing how the author explains the history of this psychological mess, and i hope if okaya breaks it's reallt interesting.

i also think maria's new pet is cute and kinda hope she can build a good relationship with the kid that isn't just about revenge, and helps them recover.

would be nice to see her husband reconnect with her again too

Pretty much warrants a drop. I feel kinda bad, because of all the hard work the translation team put into this story, and it comes with such a stupid development that makes people want to drop it.
