It's incredibly inane how people are on this thread saying "no politics here!" Everything is political. When you read manga, you are being shown the author's political standing on a subject. Politics and entertainment have collaborated since their inceptions. This level of foolishness is laughable.

This is very off the mark. The point is that when actual divisive political topics are mentioned, people will naturally chime in, and it's probable that the thread basically becomes a politics thread in everything but name. Being the first person to insert those topics into a completely unrelated thread isn't usually well-received due to the potential derailment that follows.

Well, even just mentioning a divisive event gets people talking about it, after all. It's also possible that Zeph's mention of something political rubbed some older users the wrong way, as he's voiced his opinions on this site for millennia.
