Honda certainly did a crappy thing abandoning her friend to mockery and is accepting the torment from Masaki as her punishment. She's maybe pushing Michi away so the torment doesn't spread to her but unfortunately too late. Loved Michi's realisation of the malice and the realistic panic at what's happening, although you definitely are g-

Thanks for translating.

And Masaki's demand, 'You can't talk to Reona or anybody else,' gives away this isn't just about hurting Honda. I think her attraction to Michi is genuine. She wants Michi, but all to herself.
Nah, I don't get that vibe at all. I mean she likes Michi just fine but not that much. IMO she's doing three things here:
a) The most obvious: trying to hurt Honda, out of revenge.
b) Trying to make Honda jealous, cause it wasn't just about Honda not being a good friend in the past, she was/is also in love with her (and I think Dorothy used this chapter to make it crystal clear she is interested in dating other girls).
c) Trying to rebound, trying to find a way to move on, by getting with somebody else. The "anybody else" part is just her having trust issues from Honda worrying more about other people than about her.

All-in-all, Masaki is still a top tier character and I don't think she'll be a "villain" (I don't consider her one, but others do) for much longer. Though I don't think things with Honda will be sorted out 100% soon, just improve for the time being.

All of that aside, even though technically there were "bad" things happening in this chapter, I thought it all was pretty funny. I love how the vibes never get too dramatic, due to the art style (like at the end with the steel chair lmao).

the only thing I'd push back on, and it could be subjective to the reader, is to say that things actually get very dramatic in this title and very bad things happen alongside very comedic things - and I would personally argue that the art style being somewhat soft & whimsical adds additional dissonance to the fact that it is a horror manga, simply with a near-equal comedic component (and of course the yuri under/overtones throughout).

Did Reona did do a big done goofed up in the past? Yes.
Should her bestie be mad at her for it, and hold a grudge? She has the right to.
Should she drag other's into this? No. (But I see her point, she's trying to hurt Reona by involving people she loves and trust; something that happened to her)

Genuinely sad, I hope they can work it out or at least have some closure.

It's not "a horror manga" at any level. That'd be like calling Scooby-Doo "horror", I mean look at that last panel.

It's a ghost idol romcom with a spoopy ghost showing up from time to time to keep things unique and highschool level "drama" (ie nothing "very dramatic" or "very bad" happens, I'm not complaining). The worst thing that happened so far was Aizawa dying off screen before the manga started... And she came back as a cute friendly ghost, so lol.

I mean Dorothy herself classifies it as a horror romantic comedy so whether you think it should be a horror or not is irrelevant tbh. It is a horror whether you agree or not, and has proven itself to be on numerous occasions

michi being like "i'm not g[ay]" in the middle of that was wild, poor baby.
I think the intention was more along the lines of, "I"m not going to [go along with you]"

The line in the raw is: それは… (that's...)

In which Michi is responding to Masaki saying: ウチの話聞いてくれるんじゃないの~?(Won't you listen to what I have to say?)

Yeah that wasn't how I intended the TL to come across. In my head it was "I'm not g[oing to...]" and didn't even consider it looks like "gay." Sorry, that makes it even heavier. I should retool it.
So the hole in Kasumi literally sucks Aizawa in now. She wasn't even thinking about possessing her, but Kasumi's like a black hole.
Also that one panel when their faces are just about to touch... the way it's framed, it feels like Kasumi finally caught a glimpse of Aizawa.
I think there must be some element of desire on Aizawa's part to possess, because otherwise Kasumi is in class with Aizawa all day and they're fine. Aizawa was worried about Michi, desperately wanted to go with her, saw Kasumi and realized what she could do, then it happened involuntarily? Something like that?

But yeah both Kasumi's damage and Aizawa's powers are turning into a wildfire. Very interested where this is going because the situation's far from under control. And I agree Kasumi might have noticed Aizawa last second. It seems like a side effect might be a growing spiritual awareness. Ange also saw Mizu during the concert.

"Horror comedy" is not "horror". And "horror romantic comedy" is even less so. That's the point. There's nothing scary, no extreme violence, no gore, nothing truly disturbing etc. (the main elements of the genre) in this manga. There are only shallow, superficial, aspects of "horror" (eg there's a "spoopy" ghost from time to time, but it doesn't really scare anybody reading the manga).

Again, if you try to call Scooby-Doo "horror" people will laugh at you. But if you say it's "horror comedy", then folks will go "oh, ok, yeah, you could call it that". It's at the level of wearing a blanket to pretend you're a ghost on Halloween. It's just "horror themed", which is far from being actual horror.

Anyway, it's just semantics what you actually wanna call it. The point is it's a chill cute manga and nothing in this chapter (or before) changed that, even though out-of-context it could sound bad ("a ghost possessed a girl with a mysterious void-like hole in her and then threatened to beat up another girl!").

EDIT: from the emote reactions here, some folks are apparently VERY scared when reading this lol. Sorry, I guess even this cute funny manga could be scary if you're a child!

This is good and i am really invested in the plot and how its evolved. I want to see where this goes and understand it couldn't be the same thing forever.

But I do long for the days I the early chapters where we just gotta see aizawa doing funny faces and weird stuff.

And unfortunately I dont think we can go back. After this I think if she doesn't actually address aizawa directly it would be a problem, and a but of a letdown from a story perspective. Theres too much going on at this point to return to silly ghost girl that we pretend to not see.

You gotta admit that it's had a few really creepy moments, tho...
