Thing is that some people in real life would forgive the cheating just like she did, of course the story is more dramatic about it, but it's not as unrealistic as we'd think.

You know, what you said made me think, maybe I just forgot but did we ever see why / how they got together to begin with? I vaguely remember that it wss Nanase who confessed, but I don't remember we getting anything more on it.

Sometimes it feels like Nanase isn't even into the relationship but stays on it due to sunk cost fallacy or something, especially since it's pretty clear her friend is perfect for her while Yuni wants a mommy.

You are right. Nanase was the only who confessed to Yuni, and then sidelined her for volleyball club.

As I've said in a much longer post on an earlier chapter, the story begin after several months into Yuni being neglected by Nanase and only receiving a pittance amount of attention (same underwear, hidden hand holding, texting, etc.)

I will continue to post, but, Yuni has already voiced her frustrations at Nanse. (See chapter 3 at the fireworks festival) Nanase then explained she liked a girl in middle school, but "some bad rumors" started circulating her school before she could confess, and now she's terrified that Yuni will be hurt by "rumors". To which Yuni said, "Don't compare me to her. We're not the same. I'm not that weak."

Yuni has always just wanted to be in a normal relationship with Nanase. No secrets; no hiding away on a stairwell to wait until after club is over.
__________________________

I think both girls needs to seriously sit down and re-evaluate their relationship. The last month and a half or so (in the setting) has been extremely emotionally taxing for both of them.

Though, it is clear as day to see that Nanase is starting to treat her best friend as more of a girlfriend than Yuni, but, she hasn't come to that conclusion yet.

We all understand how toxic these relationships are, and that's why we love this manga, right?

Yuni is too weak to make value what she thinks, but at the same time she does what she knows is wrong in order to satisfy the emptiness caused by her own weakness

Her girlfriend has a very close friend to which she gives what she doesn't offer to Yuni, while also being much more compatible with her. At the same time, she continues to strive for a relationship that has already proven to be broken

While the lonely girl with family problems, and my favorite, seems to have a woman who blackmails her and makes her feel trapped. A situation that has made her end up alone again, even more so with the heavy feeling of abandonment due to what just happened

There's so much going on at once, and having to wait to face the seemingly innocent family camp trip...

I love this story and hate having to wait so long for each new part. I swear that if it ever gets translated, I'll buy every single volume. And if the story is finished, but never officially translated, I'll buy every volume in Japanese so I'll never forget how it made me feel

My thoughts exactly.
I'm so confused on where this whole story is even going after SHE FOUND OUT about the cheating.
Like where could the story realistically go without going through the whole "she cheated, she found out again"?
I think the point isn't that she found out about the infidelity, but how she deals with it

The girl literally has a relationship with her friend that involves betraying her girlfriend by offering her everything she doesn't give to Yuni, while also being much more compatible with the friend, and I think that's what makes it so disgustingly interesting. Everyone is broken!

Like in "Sing Yesterday for me". Only Haru was the good person there

Yesterday I found an NTR game where it's impossible prevent NTR from happening in the first place, but you can choose 3 paths based on that:
1) The NTR path
2) The "happy" path (I don't think there can be happiness after that, but that's how they sell it)
3) And the revenge path

Personally, only the revenge path or the leave that shit and run away fast path would be the real choices, but the drama in between is what makes it so delicious. I hate the situation, but everything that happens makes it so interesting. I think that's why this genre is so popular

Do you think it's possible to repair a relationship like this, or would it even be worth it?

Personally, I don't think so, but everything that happens is so dramatic that it's interesting

Everyone has sins, everyone is broken in some way, and the cycle only gets more tainted, more filthy, and more vile. I don't usually like drama, but I ended up loving this kind of drama

One issue with Nanase is that she seems to be too naive and really think the relationship can work, unless author is playing with us and Nanase is playing long game and faking it just to do a "fuck you" to Yuni at the end lol, unlikely but you never know.

I think biggest issue with Nanase is that she's scared of doing certain things with Yuni but then she goes and do those things with her friends like they're no big deal.

Her logic is understandable since as you said she's not just a teenager but gay too so she's scared of being out of the closet, I think what rubs some people the wrong way is that all the things she did with her friends are exactly some of the things Yuni wanted, she could have acted the same way with her and nobody would suspect they're gay, just close friends.

And then we get to the really shitty stuff like inviting Yuni to see her play but not help her get there and then she left Yuni alone, Nanase negligence can only be justified to a certain point, if it wasn't for the fact we know she's too much of a goody two-shoes we could have argued some of these incidents were downright intentionally malicious.

Yuri biggest issue is definitely that she's way too self centered, I do think it makes sense since the story makes pretty clear she's starved for attention and love, she's borderline broken goods, not that it excuses her choices of course, but it do explain them.

I think biggest thing they have in common is that they lack self awareness and aren't that bright:

In Nanase case she's too naive and don't realize just how bad some of her choices are, like how she keeps ignoring Yuni and focus in the club, yes Yuni is at fault too of course for not communicating, but it's clear she's not exactly thinking much about the relationship either.

In Yuni case she do realize what she's doing is bad, but not enough to understand just now bad it is and that she should either stop or break with Nanase, she literally can't see anything else besides who's gonna giver her the attention she's desperate for.

I think some people focus way too much on the cheating and demonizing Yuni, cause Nanase isn't exactly a innocent victim, but in the end the reality is that both are infuriating and frustrating for different reasons.

Really, people talk about how Yuni is bad because she cheated and whatnot, but when Nanase found about it she basically doubled down on the relationship lol, Nanase is fucking up just as much as Yuni at this point, only difference is that Yuni started worse due to cheating, I can't wait for Nanase to inevitably cheat with her friend lol

One could argue Fuuko is equally as frustrating and infuriating but unlike the other two she's completely aware of what she's doing, what she's doing is bad and she knows it, she willfully chose to do it anyway and she owns it, it's arguably worth of respect cause she's at least honest about who she is and what she's doing, really, admirable even.
About her club, that is something that requires Nanase's full focus. Being the top player doesn't mean she can slack off. Actually, she has to set an example for the other members. It'll been different if she only joined casually. But she didn't join casually, so she has to put focus on it. That doesn't mean she love Yuni any less.

She's doing at at the expense of everything else, people can focus in a club and still have a life.

But even if we ignore how much time she has to put in the club, it doesn't change the fact that she neglected and fucked up in other ways too.

At this point in the story? I don't think so. Nanase is slowly starting to act like the girlfriend Yuni wanted her to be way back in chapter 1, or even before the story started, but, at this point? It's too little, too late.

I think a more plausible ending would be for Nanase and Yuni to break up at the end of high school and go their separate ways. Perhaps in an epilogue we see Nanase and her best friend together, and Yuni is dating someone entirely different from Fuuko or Nanase.

My issue has never been that Nanase is focusing on her club. My issue has been that Nanase pushed Yuni to the sides due to what happened in middle school.

If Nanase had actually listened and respected Yuni, she would have just come out to her friends and teammates while inviting Yuni to watch her saying, "This is my girlfriend."

Even after the cheating was exposed, Nanase doubled-down and declared she would handle both her relationship and club. She did fine for a couple weeks, yet Yuni went back to waiting for Nanase behind the school on the same stairs she was on at the beginning of the story.
