the village is in the middle of nowhere. clear land where you can see approaching enemies from a huge distance. So what was even scary about that? She had the magic to take it down and the children of that clan are able to take one down easily with a thrown spear... Why didn't they just grow and reclaim that area? I assume there is something else there, because otherwise that doesn't make sense.
Myaa better watch out, rivals are circling around her "just a friend".looks like the tables have turned

Suspiciously smug village girl is suspiciously smug
This is cool! Its awesome in fact!
Maybe the staff also takes damage, might need specific wood/material to fix.Notice how when Myaa casts the fireball, part of her staff seems to burn and disappear (pages 4-5).
She probably knew if there's one there's more and she got scared.Maybe that's why she couldn't use it at first, does "magic" requires some sort of preparation? Or she was just too shocked lol
Is it really that strange? You can probably one-shot a snake, but you'd still be scared and try to avoid it biting you, right? Even if it wasn't a poisonous snake. Why was she so scared of something that she could just one-shot like that?
Something tells me there's a bit of trauma there.
In a certain other genre of manga, this sort of panel setup is often used for a time lapse effect instead of a slow-mo effect, showing little slices of "action" that's implied to be happening continuously over a much longer duration. It's so common in that genre that I've even seen it parodied with a line along the lines of "Look at this panel layout! We were supposed to be well into the 'action' by now, not still arguing about it!"I love when manga "animate" the panels like that fireball
I guess she wasn't in the mood to bet her life on her accuracy and cast speedWhy was she so scared of something that she could just one-shot like that?
