Thats the thing right, that rewind ability would be impossible to beat at best you might get a perma time loop. They should have just made it was limited per day or something cause it's stupid otherwise that A that boy got turned into a box and B that anyone with that item would be beatable.

There must be some conditions to triggering it. Like having to trigger it manually, that’s why the boy couldn’t due it.

My take on that, the ability activation condition is the user must died first, by this I mean when the heart can't beat, and brain can't think anymore. The boy couldn't rewind because he still alive, he can still feel his heart beating, he still conscious and thinking.

The only way to escape from the loop is by snatching the box from the user
