Yeah but this is a silly gag manga with cutesy art style.

You can't have like serious war crimes and genocide in a manga with THIS art style or like get too dark since it might create whiplash. Now obviously the examples I gave are hyperbole but the point should be understood given the story so far is very cheerful with zero hints of anything serious.
