Wow, so last chapter wasn't a dream after all! That's so ass.

Don't get me wrong. I've loved everything this manga was building up to that point. It was executing peak storytelling principles that are hard to find with non-action stories these days. However, the execution of this ending (pun unintended) is just so piss poor. How the hell are we supposed to believe that the husband survived STRANGULATION, A GAPING WOUND ACROSS HIS ARM, PLUS TWO STABS TO HIS HEART AND LEFT LUNG, THEN LEFT THERE TO DIE AND TOOK HOURS FOR MEDICS TO RESCUE HIS PATHETIC ABUSIVE ASS WITHOUT SUCCUMBING TO HORRENDOUS INFECTIONS, BLOOD LOSS, HEART FAILURE, OR A MYRIAD OF OTHER WAYS TO DIE?!? Good lord.

What's frustrating me isn't the tragic ending itself, we already expected that ages ago, it's how we got to that unbelievable ending. Author was maybe too lazy too draw more chapters to justify how the fuck the husband survived and track down Jirou and Kuroko. That's a major plot hole which just sours the entire ending experience that would have otherwise been perfect. If the author's intention with this whole manga was simply to toy the audience's emotions just for this specific moment, then congratulations, they succeeded. Just goes to prove that the author had to rely on cheap shock value instead of actual good writing though, so too bad.

Could have been my one and only rated 10 masterpiece that's in this genre. What a waste.
I don't think that kid thinks that much about it; you should see a theRAPIST to have your paranoia checked.

It was entertaining up until the previous chapter. What the fuck were these last two?

gomi should consider going fully bald. i bet it'll do wonders for him.

meh ending.

i mostly liked the erotica in this series and at least it was depicted that gomi got sum during the runaway fugitive arc right before the end.

honestly people are saying this was ass but imo it was so peak it seemed like gooner shit but turned out great. the ending was meant to be sad and sudden i like how it insinuates that the MC made this manga 9/10

It would have been good if we were ease into the ending... I like this ending honestly, it's fitting but the way the author went about it was NOT right.
I agree. I was kind of in dismay reading this because it was a legit great ending, it just happened way too suddenly.

We really needed just a single chapter in between to really sell how Gomi was affected and answer some lingering questions (namely did husband face any consequences for the murder?!) and maybe a bit more exposition on how Gomi's previous fraught gendered views have changed.

The satisfying title drop, the foreshadowing of pregnancy turning out to be a metaphor and Gomi's revival of his will to live and understanding of Kuroko were all no notes great. I love how it caps off Gomi recognizing Kuroko and himself as deeply flawed but genuine people who were genuinely in love and is able to mourn their lost future in a productive and meaningful way. It would have hit so much harder with just a bit more elaboration, but it wasn't the worst!

Thank you to the author and translators for the hard work and letting us read this fascinating story! It is officially one of my favorites despite the ending being a bit fumbled, but I read Stephen King so I'm no stranger to that lol!

I am surprised the MC didn't die honestly. Compared to the author's previous work, this ending was rather tamed.
Really 🙄? Did we even read the same mangas? So, ur saying that in his previous work somebody died? Stop with the BS of how "brutal" his previous work is. Dramatic BS and exaggerations! Who died in his previous one and only manga? Name one. You can't cuz it's Nobody 😒. The pedo father lived, the insecure wife lived, her bitch ass daughter lived and had an influencer bf, that little hoe lived, her child lived. Nobody fuckin died. Infact, this manga has similar ending to the last one because again, here, the author used time skip to give us a shitty nonsensical ending. Only difference here, is that here Kuroko died. So, this one is more brutal than his previous work.

I'll bet that she planned that. She probably told Moyupu where they were gonna be and when to kill her
She admitted she didn't really want to die. She wanted to be happy and for that happiness to last, and just couldn't trust that was possible.
Her death was sudden and ironic, as she had already been made to feel safe enough to let her cynicism go and live a normal life. Her original goal being forced on her anyway was meant to be shocking in how ironic it was. It was a bit edgelordy in how her bleakest thoughts were proven right in the end, but Gomi's commitment to document his memories of her at least proved she was always worthy of being truly loved.

I had really fallen behind on keeping up with this one after reading the first few chapters, but blitzed the whole thing after seeing it was over. Gotta say, bingeing an absurdist carnival of human misery felt like a really appropriate way to start off 2026.

Thank you translator for this gift of pain.

If it's weird then why does almost everyone in the world choose to enter a relationship with a fertile member of the opposite sex over an infertile one? That's normal, the opposite of weird. Hopefully you grow up a bit and realise it.
Ew how creepy. Not everyone is mindless breeding stock. People have more worth than if they can have kids or not. Which should be obvious because incels just love their anime waifus, and believe it or not, that pillow will not get pregnant no matter how much you try. Clearly their lack of fertility isn't a factor lol

The husband's dead. He stabbed himself in the neck while kissing Kuroko, then they fell down with the knife going through both their throats.

But then we're talking about a dude who went on an international quest for revenge after tanking strangulation and three stabs to the heart, so maybe he can shake off an impaled carotid, too.

Gomi has a pretty rough ending but he got a better deal than the Pedo dad who deserved everything bad that happened to him. Gomi choosing to live and grow as a person is a pretty positive ending in comparison
