Considering the track record for this manga having extremely stupid scenarios, I seriously doubt the author will actually “subvert” this by making it the more likely outcome.
But yeah, I imagine that even for japanese readers, this is just ridiculous, since the worst that would come out of an anonymous letter is 1 teacher maybe investigating/talking to a few students. No way they would ever be allowed to publically bring this up to the whole class and disrupt the atmosphere.
